That would want to make me pull what hair I have left  out, and I have very little hair left. Lol! This re the background progress bars. That is jus  I though.

Sighted person would have to look very hard, if the progress bar flashes up very quickly, and they could easily miss it.

I’ve also heard it when the computer is idle.

Thanks, I still don't understand why windows 11 would announce something that's not there, even had a sighted person check and nothing was displayed on screen, even did a clean install of NVDA and would still get odd behavior until I disabled saidoption.

Good stuff.

 

Basically, having that option checked, tells NVDA to tell you about any progress bar, whether it’s part of the app in focus or not.

So just uncheck report background progress bars, and I believe that problem will go away.

I don't think this is an NVDA problem.  I think something is going on in Windows or a Windows program that is causing a progress bar to be displayed and NVDA is reading it.  If you alt tab around, do you see any window that gives any idea of what it might be?  Also, did this behavior start after any event, such as after updates were installed or after you installed a program?
