While I guess this add on serves the purpose for some who don't want to fiddle with editing addresses in the address bar, you can do this manually with dropbox links by changing the very last character of the address from the number 0 to the number 1.  I am not sure how it works for Google or phone numbers, but it is probably similar--change an element of the address.

if you've ever tried a dropbox link for instance,  when you open the link, it'll take you to a page where you have to click on the download button to download the file.

similarly for other services.

The addon will convert these links to a direct link, where the download starts directly.
