I know how many messages in the inbox by listening to NVDA echo 1
of x amount and it is easy to know if you are on line or not. I
could see the need of a statis bar in word processors, but in
email clients, no need for me personally. Have a good one.

You can hear the total number of messages in a folder by being in
the message list and moving to a message and letting the
information read. As in other standard lists, the last
information will be information like 5 of 20, in other words where
you are in the list and the number of items. The status line
gives you those pieces of information more quickly and efficiently

No. The issue now and in perhaps more than one earlier

Hi, was saying I can disable it or enable it, I thought

Are you saying the read status line command reads it and
when does it read it, when it is checked or unchecked. It
shouldn't be shown if it is unchecked and it shouldn't be

This may be something NVDA will have to
update. The status bar is still read when
using JAWS. Whether Thunderbird or NVDA
should correct the situation is something I'll
leave to the two sets of developers.

Has anyone upgraded Thunderbird to the
