Hi.

You must have this configuration in each folder were you want descending or ascending, a determinate order, because changing this configuration from the menu bar, only affects to the folder were you stay wen you do the configuration.

Hi, everyone,

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi all,

I just wanted to let you all know that Yahoo forcast isn’t working with any of my cities.  I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?
Thanks,

Re: Saving in MS Word 2016?

Hello,
Thank you! You helped me figure this out!
Press alt+f, then t. Then press ctrl+tab 3 times till you get to save. Then tab until you hear "Don't show the backstage when opening or saving files". Check this box and hit OK.
Then ctrl+S will act like normal.
Thanks,

Hello,

How does one easily save in MS Word 2016 with the keyboard?

If one presses ctrl+s in word 2016, the file menu opens up and the cursor is placed on the save as button. In order to get the brows icon, one needs to press the right arrow and down arrow several times.

Is there an easier way to get this brows dialogue?

Thanks,

can be scary at times but I'm glad you're all right.

Well on any reclaimed land it did that.
Its fortunate most of the north island is rock.
As I said before if one ever goes off in auckland it is most probabily a volcanoe rather than a quake though those have happened.
So shaken and boiled then crushed, not a nice way to go.
I do feel for those that have probably spent for christmas and got ready for it though.

Re: quake

Hmmm well it could be a result of the supermoon a lot of this stuff at least some of it is atmospheric and we know the moon controls tides.
During the night or so before and after friends have seen the super as a bright light.
And its not discounted that it may have contributed.
All we actually know is that this was a preasure event or colision of some sort which pushed a faultline with another, causing 2 quakes.

Meanwhile, could someone tell me if it is OK to post the text of a macro on

NVDA with VMware Horizon View

Charles Coyle <prvs=3127f392d6=charles.coyle@...>

Dear all,

Employees in my organisation our able to log in to our work systems from home using the VMware Horizon View software. However, I have found that this will not work with JAWS (which is my primary screen reader) unless I purchase an additional add-on. I am unwilling to do this as I would not need to access it often enough to make this worth my while.

I have tried using VMware Horizon View with NVDA but it doesn’t appear to work that well. If any of you use this software with NVDA and have any tips on doing so (or if there are any add-ons for NVDA to help it to work better with VMware Horizon View) I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Best wishes,

Charlie

Yes its not even just 2010, this strange effect can occur way back to word xp. its as if the whole file is designed as a big text box rather than just part of the native file.

Unfortunately with accessibility, if some part of word does not fire the right event for a screenreader to recognise often there is no way one can get at the text reliably.

Hi

This problem isn't exclusive to Office 2016.11.14
To our absolute frustration, we experienced the same problem in Office 2010
on Friday.

You see, we asked one of our churches to send the programme for the service
to us. We received the Word document, which indicated that it was the right
size to contain text, however, when we opened the document, NVDA read
nothing whatsoever. NVDA couldn't even do a word count or anything. What
made it even more strange, was that, when we selected the text, I could see
that the document wasn't blank.

We tried to convert it to text in the hope that something would happen, but
still nothing. So we took the document to one of our sigted colleagues, who
simply clicked on the text and cut it out of the frame which made it legible
with immediate effect.

Kind regards

I've seen this as well, indeed I had to get my doctor to remove all text
boxes and reformat the text as paragraphs before it would even be possible
to cut and paste them or read them in a screenreader.
As this was dietary information it was most important that it was readable
to me. Of course the producers of these files obviously has no idea about
access issues, I doubt if it even crossed their minds.

Hi,

Re: GitHub REFERENCE: "elements in a word document are not read #5738"

I have a Word document that contains two appendices which are set out as
"Text Boxes" that NVDA calls "Text Frame" when it gets into the BOX. The
only way that I can find to get into the BOX is to find A particular word
that is known to be contained in the box. I see that this is a problem
raised in GitHub and still unassigned. The sample given in the GitHub
reference is a perfect illustration of what I mean and so you can
replicate
the problem from there if you wish.

Has anyone found a way to navigate these boxes? I understand that the
difficulty is that they can float and so it is difficult for the screen
reader to lock on to them.

As a matter of interest, I copied the entire document, including the two
appendices, into clipboard in hopes of removing the text frames but the
Windows "cut and paste" also failed to trap the contents of the text
boxes!

I had a sighted person do the same on their machine, and they were
surprised
to find that the contents of the text boxes, which they could see clearly
in
the Word document, failed to paste into their notepad session!

Any thoughts would be more than welcome.

All the best,

Cearbhall

Hello Gene,

I was just going to write and ask how you're doing.

I found your message and take it that you're fine, but please, if
there's anything we can do from here to help, don't hesitate to
contact me off-list and let me know.

I heard about the quake on the news a little earlier today. I think

Re: Request: A Good Tutorial On Using NVDA With Outlook 2016

Hi

I am not sure for one for nvda, but even though this one mentions
narrator and another screen reader it might help you with the program.

I had a very quick look, but guess it would be the same moves for nvda
users or not far off it. I could be wrong.

The link to this page

If i remember right it looks as though it comes off the microsoft site.

hope it helps.

I am a thunderbird user in Windows 10.

I am not sure if it is for the app version or one that comes with
windows for the outlook tutorial.

Hi Group,

I have been using Thunderbird for e-mail for quite a while now--ever
since I switched from XP to Windows 7/8/. Is there any good tutorial
for NVDA and Outlook 2016? I would like to try it out and see if I
can use all of its superior advantages with NVDA. In particular the
mail features are of interest to me.

Re: seamonkey and windows 10

Seamonkey and Firefox share a lot of common cyber-DNA (going all the way back to Netscape) and are both under the Mozilla Foundation.  I see no reason why it wouldn't work perfectly well under Windows 10.  I do not know how accessible it is, though, unless the scripts for Firefox work for it or there were ones written specifically for Seamonkey.

I used Seamonkey for many years before I decided I didn't need or want anything other than a web browser, at which point I started using Firefox.
