This has been observed and tested for quite long time. Everytime I
proof reading in the openoffice Writer file. Right after I selected
the appropriate word the nvda stops speaking. In order to get resume
its speaks I usually minimize the said application. Not sure if this
is the same as with the Microsoft Word or any third party text
editor as well.
Kindly advise me directly if this is been experienced also by the
others user as well. Thanks!

Also, you say you're on a laptop. You have the very easy option of
turning the mousepad on and using the hard mouse buttons. I have a number

Re: google chrome comment

Hi,
Web Vism does not even work on the latest versions of Firefox anymore. It only worked on Firefox before. There is another captsha solving program that will work on Chrome. It is called Ramola. It will Solve captshas on IE, Chrome, and Firefox. It is an add on to your browser. In Chrome, just search for Ramola and you can add it on to Chrome for free. Now, you get five for free. However, for 99 cents, I believe you can solve 150 captshas or close to that. So now, everyone is using Ramola to solve Captshas. I hope that helps, and let me know if you can find Ramola and get it to work. Have a great one.

Hi all,

This is mostly for those using UEB: A new third-party snapshot for testing latest UEB tables is now up. Note that this is equivalent to portable copy (please don’t install this version onto your computer, as this build does not support manual nor automatic updates).

Direct link:

http://www.nvda-kr.org/en/nvda_snapshot_brltbl20160315.exe

After launching this build, to use the UEB table set, from braille settings/output table combo box, select either English (Unified) grade 1 or 2 (both will be the last table set for English and they are labeled as “experimental”). Comments regarding this build should be sent to this list or to me directly. Thank you.

Cheers,

Joseph

NVDA right clicking on a link or button in Firefox when enter or space is pressed

Hello,
on my Windows 10 machine, I sometimes will have the problem that when I press enter or space a right-click will be performed. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it? It is incredibly annoying and happens at the most inopportune times.

In Audacity, Press Shift+H to change the audio host. I am using Windows
7, and I have three options, "Windows WASAPI," "MME," and "Windows
DirectSound." For me, the default option is "Windows WASAPI," which does
not allow recording of both Internal sound and USB audio at the same
time. Try either "MME" or "Windows DirectSound."
Then, press Shift+I to select the recording device. If you have an
option for stereo mix, try using that to record.
If that doesn't work, press Windows+R to open the run dialog, and enter
the following into the dialog.
control /name microsoft.sound
That will open the Windows sound properties. Switch to the recording
tab, and make sure that all recording devices are enabled, and restart
Audacity if changes are made.

It's not the fault of the microphone.  The only way to record the microphone and your screen-reader is to find a way to record that mixes both sources together.  What you hear or Stereo Mix has already been suggested but if you are using Windows 7 or higher, and using the internal sound card that came with your computer, you probably don't have such an item and trying to get such an item using your internal sound card involves more experimentation than I believe it is worth.
With external sound cards, my understanding is that such a feature also may or may not be available.

If you are using a new or reasonably new version of Audacity, the program provides for that kind of recording.  I don't know the name of the feature nor how you set it up.  It may be called something like loop back.  But this question should be discussed on the Audacity for Blind users' list.

I don't know the subscribe information for that list.  If it helps you figure it out, the address to send messages to the list is:

The archives are available whether people are members of the list or not.  Do a Google search for loop back audacity or loop back audacity blind and see what information you get.

Someone else may have the subscription information to join the list but that may not be necessary depending on what you find with a search..

In Audacity, Press Shift+H to change the audio host. I am using Windows 7, and I have three options, "Windows WASAPI," "MME," and "Windows DirectSound." For me, the default option is "Windows WASAPI," which does not allow recording of both Internal sound and USB audio at the same time. Try either "MME" or "Windows DirectSound."
Then, press Shift+I to select the recording device. If you have an option for stereo mix, try using that to record.
If that doesn't work, press Windows+R to open the run dialog, and enter the following into the dialog.
control /name microsoft.sound
That will open the Windows sound properties. Switch to the recording tab, and make sure that all recording devices are enabled, and restart Audacity if changes are made.

It depends on what recording software you are using, but try looking for an option like stereo mix in your list of recording devices. It's unlikely that this is an NVDA-specific issue.
