I don't know how well Recuva works for most people.  I have had little success with it though there's no harm in trying. 
 
However, if the files were on your machine at the time a restore point was made, if you are using the default settings, the files will be retained by shadow copy.  I won't go into how to find them in this message because I don't know how long they were on the drive nor do I know if you have System Restore active. I also don't know if the procedure is the same as mine since I don't know what version of Windows you are using.

This doesn't work, if you have the desktop shortcut key for NVDA set
as the default. You would need to change or remove it. Try that and

Firstly, are you running this server yourself, and do you have root access to it?
 
You say it didn't work, but what happened when you tried? Do you get packet loss if you try to ping the server? Do you have DNS properly set up, not just on port 80, http, but throughout the whole server, and, finally, are you allowing both inbound and outbound traffic through the firewall, and are you allowing the correct ports to be opened on both sides to accept the NVDA remote connection? Remember that just because you have a website, doesn't mean you have all things configured to run the server. It's not quite that simple as just putting in the domain of your website and immediately expecting it to work.
