you can for example edit everything you want then, use down arrow to hear botton. sometimes bottons have labels and sometimes not. in my experience, immediately after compleating form filds and fil the desired informations, i use down arrow or tab key and nvda announces botton. in google also, sometimes nvda search botton and sometimes only botton. hope that helps. God bless you.

Well, pardon my mistake! I was copying german words and I don't know how it's happened. It's interesting: I've written the letter, then I was reading it, the content was what i was writting, but in the list come just the german words!

I have not seen a download for Speech API since Window XP, version 5.1. I think Win dows 10 is version 5.4. A Speech Platform softare was available for phones on a server scenario a few years ago, but not for desktop. I just use the buildt-in voices for Windows, like David.

I've tried unsuccessfully all day to download the Microsoft speech platform runtime SPK version 11 software, but with no success. Hi friends,
I Have a Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit laptop and it completely refuses to load the latest NVDA, does anyone have any ideas what the issue may be? You can double clik the desktop icon after a fresh install and nothing at all happens. I Have even tried running it as an administrator. The issues seem to have started after I installed a Bluetooth speaker, an Anker but I have now uninstalled this from the device manager and allso in control panel, view devices and deleting it there.

Re: NVDA doesn't always see buttons on a web page
Gene
There is no way. are you saying that JAWS
announces the button as play and NVDA doesn't? If so, I don't know
why. also, I may have forgotten to mention that after you press enter, the
way, in NVDA to move from button to button is to tab and shift tab. You
may not have to and I often just try pressing enter whether I can move or not or
whether I hear any button announced or not. Sometimes, I try tabbing and
pressing enter a number of times regardless of whether I hear any feedback or
not. But I often use the mouse technique I described first. It often
works and, in my experience, it works more often than the pressing enter method
does.
also, what we are discussing is an example of
why demanding Windows users should have more than one screen-reader
available. At times, JAWS will allow a Flash button to be activated and
NVDA won't. At times, the reverse is true. Often, both
screen-readers can be used successfully.

the play button may be a control in a Flash player. Try going to the page, then make sure you are at the top, Type the letter o and see if you land on an embedded object. Press enter and try tabbing and shift tabbing. Do you see any buttons? Also, if that doesn't work, start over. Close and reopen the browser, go to the web page again, make sure you are at the top then type o to move to the embedded object. Now route the mouse to the current location of the object navigator with the command numpad insert numpad slash, the same key as for left click. Now press numpad slash by itself to left click the embedded object. Does the file start to play?
Remember two things when following these instructions for working with the mouse. First, before starting the second set of instructions, make sure you are in object review. Issue the command numpad insert numpad 1. If you hear somethin like no previous review, you will already be in object review. If you hear something that isn't object review but some other review, continue to issue the command until you get to object review.
Remember not to press enter on the embedded object. And one more thing: When I said to start over and close the browser, then open it and go to the page again, I did so to avoid any possible problems. I wanted you to start from the beginning so we both knew exactly what you were doing. But when not learning from these instructions, you don't have to do that. You can, as I recall, return to the page by using a book mark without closing the browser first. That will save you time. But if you can't get the file to play, you can try closing the browser first to see if that makes any difference. you can't get the file to play, you can close the browser, as I said initially.

Re: when on a web page nvda doesn't select a link
Dejan Ristic
I sometimes happen to encounter it, so I would usually repeat an
action so that it does not fail for the second time. If it is not
working for you, I activate the focus mode, then I tab to the
desired link, and then I press enter, so that I activate the link.
If it is to no avail, I play with different browsers. I also make
sure whether a web page is maximized, so that NVDA is successful
in communicating with it.

Re: NVDA doesn't always see buttons on a web page

Hi Group,
Another technique that works on a few pages where NVDA does not see or does not activate buttons is to move to just before where the button is located and then to switch to edit mode with insert + space bar. ten use the tab key to move to the button or sometimes it will say clickable item. Then press space bar or enter and sometimes a player or link will be activated. I see this with the Tunein website for premium content.

I am encountering the same thing. Also, NVDA says "item not found" when the PC reaches the desktop and I have to hit "m-window-key" to restore the desktop. I am also losing the voice for while when I move the cursors faster to skim through the page or the file explorer for that matter. I don't know if it is NVDA or Win10 problem. The fact of the matter is NVDA and Win10 combo is not as stable as it used to be with Windows 7. Your thoughts please. On another topic, I have a laptop for which I cannot remember the password and I failed to make a rescue disk. Any help is greatly appreciated. It is an Acer laptop with Win10. Blessings. Pascal
