Sorry, and, probably not relevant at all, but, have in the past had guys working with a laptop's keyboard, and, their forearms brush against the touchpad occasionally, moving the cursor around?

Perhaps a month ago, I said that I found Firefox to
be slow on some sites where whatever other browser I compared with wasn't.
I believe I also said that it is my impression that this problem has expanded
with Firefox, that it is slower on more sites than previously. Whether
this is caused by changes in Firefox or in NVDA, I don't know.

This appears to be a problem only with one web
site, as described. it isn't clear to me that anything need be done.
If others report the problem or if the developers can replicate it, work may
need to be done to keep NVDA and code on the page from interferring with each
other. There may be some other pages where this problem occurs, since it
occurs on one page. But I don't think tinkering with NVDA is worth doing
at this point.

copy documents without addon only works with html files. i mean when you are in one browser, select parts of page and then press control+c to copy your selection, nvda announces copy. i did not see this addon in the official nvda addons website and i myself, dont use any addon. nvda is very perfect even without addon! i dont remember its name.

nvda and browse mode
Josh Kennedy
I am using latest NVDA 2016.4. on the walmart website NVDA slows to a crawl, while jaws18 demo is very fast and snappy and works fine. I would like to ask the NVDA devs to re-write browse mode when they get a chance to NVDA is fast and snappy as well, like jaws is. If it would not have been for jaws, as my secondary backup screen reader, I couldn't have placed my order on walmart's website. Hopefully NVDA will fix the sluggish browse mode soon.

NVDA Jumps Around Randomly
Gary
I am using the latest version of NVDA (2016-4) on Windows 10, and have
been for several months now. I started experiencing a rather strange and annoying behavior today, seemingly out of nowhere. I hope I can properly describe it. The only way I can describe what NVDA is doing is that it randomly reads a different line of whatever application I am in. It reads the one I want correctly, but will also read a line I'm not even on. For example, conveniently, as I was typing the previous sentence, NVDA read the first line in my edit window. I have noticed this behavior in pretty much every program I use, including Firefox, Internet Explorer, Notepad, Thunderbird, and Chicken Nugget. I am loathed to reinstall from scratch, considering I have made a lot of configuration changes, so I would appreciate any advice. If there is debugging I can enable or whatever, I am happy to do so. I should also mention that I initially thought this could be something funky with my keyboard, but I switched to JAWS, which I used in the past, but it didn't occur then. Thanks, Gary

Yes your advice did help. However, where do I go to make the change regarding backstage? Thank you very much.
From: nvda@nvda.groups.io [mailto:nvda@nvda.groups.io] On Behalf Of Quentin Christensen
Hi Dan,
Welcome to the group!
Re "Line feed", what program are you in when it announces that? For me, in most programs, it doesn't necessarily announce anything when I press ENTER, but as I left or right arrow through the text it announces line feed when it gets to where I pressed enter? This is to indicate that it was a deliberate press of ENTER and not just reaching the right margin for instance.
Re saving files. Again in word, if I press control+s, NVDA reads: "ctrl+s Save As tab selected Save As Alt, F, A " That is using the default setup of Word showing the "backstage". If I set it up to go straight to the save as dialog (file - options - save then check "Don't show the backstage when opening or saving files".
If I have it set to go straight to the save as dialog, I get:
"ctrl+s Save As dialog File name: File name: Save as type: Save as type: File name: combo box collapsed edit Alt+n selected some filename.docx" Which is exactly the same if I press f12.
In Wordpad, when I press control+s, I get:
"ctrl+s Save As dialog File name: combo box collapsed edit Alt+n selected Document.rtf "
In Notepad I get:
"ctrl+s Save As dialog File name: File name: Save as type: Save as type: File name: combo box collapsed edit Alt+n selected *.txt"
Not sure if that helps though?
Regards

Q2. Recently NVDA in my class room will not say “file name” when pressing control + s when saving file for the first time. NVDA will not say “save as” when pressing f12.
When we press control + c or control + v, NVDA does not announce, “copy” or “paste.” Is there some setting that is not correct? Thanks for reading this long email and thanks in advance for your assistance.
