Good morning, Here is the link to the section on Kindle in the User Guide: https://www.nvaccess.org/files/nvda/documentation/userGuide.html?#toc62 Books need to have "Enhanced Typesetting" enabled, which you can check on the details page for the book. I can't see a place in the book itself that has it (unless the author includes it) but it is listed on the book's page on the Amazon web-site. Kind regards Quentin.

Before uninstalling and reinstalling programs, try registering dll files in a procedure that has been discussed here before. I don't know the procedure but it doesn't involve manually editing the registry. It is a procedure to register one or more dll files. If these files for some reason become unregistered, behavior such as you are describing will be seen. The procedure involves typing and executing a command at the DOS prompt. List members who have used it or know more about it will, I expect, discuss the matter further. Uninstalling Firefox and NVDA may not solve the problem. If it is the unregistered DLL files problem, it won't and considerable time and effort will have been wasted. Registering the files is a quick and easy procedure.

Well, what you can try is disabling table announcement in NVDA's

document formatting settings. Note that this would be the default behaviour unless you create a new profile for the explorer application. Press Ctrl+NVDA+P, then go to New profile, followed by choosing current application (explorer) in the radio buttons. Then make the changes to document formatting afterwards.

Are you reading messages by down arrowing through
them? That's really cumbersome and inefficient.. I know of no skip
blank lines feature in NVDA. If you use read to end, you won't hear blank
lines spoken as blank. You will just hear messages read just as any
documents in other programs.
