Replying to the list using the web site

Gene

What are the steps to reply to the list to a message using the web site?  I deleted a message because I didn't think I had a reply but, on reflection, I did.  I opened the message on the web site, pressed the reply button, wrote a message in the edit field, then I activated the reply to group button.  I did this more than once and no message was sent to the list, at least I didn't see any when I downloaded mail from the list again.

Re: MS Office tutorials?

Alexander, I'm working on Excel currently.  Being realistic, I'll say that should be available by the middle of the year, though likely sooner.

Robert, Thanks for the expression of interest.  We are keeping an eye on the interest in the audio of the "Basic Training for NVDA" as well as people who ask about Word like yourself, to ascertain the interest in the different formats.

Kind regards

Quentin.

At times, but, really depends on what you want - I use that for actual alerts, but, avoiding popup dialogues, so, if you just wanted text to get announced, aria-live="assertive" should handle it - "polite" seems to get avoided/ignored a bit too often, but, like said, really depends on rest of page contents, etc.

Hi,
Very unusual for groups.io. It’s the NVDA addons list I’m having trouble with over at Freelists – it keeps randomly unsubscribing me. I resubscribed and sent a message last night which seems to have gone through but then not only did I get no replies, but no traffic from that list whatsoever. When I look at the archives this morning I find that my message isn’t even there. That group has unsubscribed me now about four times with absolutely no warning. Does anyone know what’s going on with that list?
Cheers.

Re: about nvda and triggers

Gene New Zealand <hurrikennyandopo@...>

Hi

I think the easiest way is to set up a profile with the reporting of
those things turned off. Where they need to be turned off is under the
document formatting section. But do not go there first it will need to
be done in the profile.

To set up a profile where you can do this and automatically have it done
you need to do the following.

Go into your browser whether it be mozilla fire fox etc. make sure it is
in focus.

Next Press the nvda key + ctrl key + the letter P

When the profile manager opens next tab to new it is a button press the
space bar on it. give it a name like mozilla fire fox with out
formatting then tab it will say some thing manual activation i could
have to check. Do not touch this one but arrow down to current
application it will say mozilla fire fox. Then tab down to the ok button
then press the enter key.

Next bring up document formatting with the ctrl key + nvda key + the
letter D.

Tab down to where it says reporting of headings list etc and uncheck
those boxes then tab to the ok button then press the enter key.

You might have to go back into your pro file or hopefully it is still in
focus locate the profile you set up then tab to the close button then
press the enter key.

If set correctly you should not hear link, heading list etc.

When you do it make sure you are in mozilla fire fox then bring up the
profile do your changes in document formatting then after done when back
in the pro file tab to close just as mentioned.

I am pretty sure you will get the idea and other profiles can be set up
for other applications.

I find doing for a current application is far easier for a lot of people.

Toggle speaking of typed characters, and, speaking of typed words, if that one was not enabled.

Think it has to do with output to console/command line being rendered one character at a time, even if quite quickly.

And, been like this for a while now, and, besides coming across it when working with things like standard dos commands, I also work around this when playing around with various forms of utlities for forms of work.

Hello,
does the problem persist if you turn keyboard echo off in NVDA (NVDA+2 in

There is a problem where NVDA thinks a character was typed because it
appeared right next to the cursor. The heuristic works fairly well but when
it fails it might very well lead to everything being s p e l l e d out.

Hi, all. in jaws when I want to check a letter by pressing the same key twice I hear it as millitary spelling. for example if I press V I hear victor and so on. If I do this with NVDA it spell the word and not the letter. How can I get NVDA to do the same as jaws? Using W10, current NVDA. Help.
