Disabling png attachments in Mail app for windows 10

Tea Turković

Hi all,
I'm running Windows 10 creators ubdate. I tested native mail app, but I didn't manage to disable automatic attachments in png format. Is it possible to disable it and how?
Thanks in advance.
Best wishes,
Tea Turkovic

Have you tried turning off progress bar updates? Have you also tried
turning off reporting dynamic content changes? All can be found in
object presentation dialog.

None for me not unless I forced it manually to update the apps. Or, I may suggest to double check the time interval of numbers of days. Usually, the default of the days interval is 7 but, you may change it if you like on a daily basis to update the apps. Also, it will prompts you the version just in case a new update comes from your end.

Re: Keystroke for reading a specific Object

Quentin Christensen

To set a "hotspot" you can have NVDA read while still working elsewhere, you can use the review cursor.  Move the review cursor to the object (the countdown timer in this case) that you want to be able to read, then press NVDA+7 to turn follow system focus off, so the review cursor won't jump back to the current focus when you move around the screen normally.

See the section on Navigating with NVDA in the User Guide for more information: https://www.nvaccess.org/files/nvda/documentation/userGuide.html?#toc29

The "Basic Training for NVDA" module also contains extensive information on using the review cursor and object navigation.

Kind regards

Jonathan,

It's a nice add-on.  However, unless I'm doing something really wrong, and I don't think I am, the commands list on the add-on page has the key sequences for the first two commands flip-flopped.   Save position as currently listed shows the positions and show positions list tries to save a new one.

Re: Question about donating to NVDA

Quentin Christensen

Just to summarise what everyone has added:

- Yes, you can donate via credit card.  It does use PayPal, however you don't need a PayPal account, you can check out as a guest and enter your credit card details.

- The other way of donating is via bank transfer.  As others noted, our bank is in Australia, so it will automatically convert to Australian dollars, however please do check with your bank whether this will incur any fees.

Kind regards

Quentin.

Re: did the keystroke to get to "actions center" change

Jessica,

All sorts of peculiarities can present themselves when using a virtual Windows 10 machine on a Mac.

Under real Windows 10 Creators Update running on a PC WinKey+A is what still brings up the Action Center.  If you must get to the Action Center and WinKey+A is not working try WinKey+B to throw focus on the system tray and then right arrow over until you land on the action center.  I can't say how many presses you'd need as this varies depending on what you elect to show or hide in the system tray.

I’m using VMware fusion on my mac.

I’m wondering if the keystroke to access the “actions center” changed, because under VMware fusion, Windows A doesn’t do anything.

What can I do?

Re: Read current line 3 times to copy its content to clipboard?

There is an item called Speech Viewer but I'm not sure just what you can tell it to copy.
I haven't used it to any extent, though I looked at it just a bit.  It appears to me not to be intended mainly for this purpose and it appears to me to be a considerably more cumbersome way of copying a line than the methods previously discussed or the proposed new method.

I thought NVDA had a command to copy to the clipboard the last spoken text.  I don't remember what it is, because I've never used it, but I do remember seeing it in the documentation when I was reading through it.

It's some sort of bug.  Synthesizers don't speak words depending on whether they are proper English.  Gonna isn't proper English but neither is ain't nor all sorts of words where the g is dropped such as happenin'.

Hi Chris:

I think that the reason that this phenomena takes place is because,
strictly speaking, there is no such word as "gonna in the English
language.  I know that it is used all the time, but the proper way to
say it is "going to".  When I was in third grade, our teacher would
not let us use words like "gonna" and "yah".
Of course, I use them all the time so I guess I didn't learn anything.  :smile)

Assunto: [nvda] To Rui Fontes

Hi.
I am trying to make the switch from WE to JAWS and NVDA. My problem is I have become so accustomed to the Australian Karen compact voice available with the first WE first set of Vocalizer voices. Is it possible to get this voice for NVDA and JAWS? Thanks.
Bill

:smile)

Hi,
This is for JAWS and NVDA users.
The british voice Malcolm will not say the word 'gonna' or any text on
the same line as that word.
This is how to fix that issue.
1. Go to your speach dictionary. Click on voice dictionary while using
the voice Malcolm.
2. Type 'gonna' in the word field.
3. Type 'GONAA' in the replacement field. Make sure it's all lower case.
4. Click Okay.

For JAWS.
1. Click on the JAWS dictionary.
2. Select vocalizer expressive.
3. Type 'gonna' in the word field.
4. Type 'GONAA' in the replacement field. Make sure it's all lower case.
5. Click okay.
Note: you can do the same thing with the user dictionary in
CodeFactory's version of Vocalizer expressive.
I hope this helps someone.
