Re: VLC player app and W10

I would check to make sure the files are numbered correctly and I would also check any settings such as shuffle to make sure they are off.  I don't think the procedure given in the below message will work better than the other procedures described in the original message.  They are just different ways of doing the same thing.  You can try the procedure given, but I think the problem may be in the numbering or in some setting in the program.

Holger,

Then you should be able to accomplish this after you've opened VLC by:

1.  Hitting CTRL+F to open the "Select Folder" dialog.

2.  Navigate to the folder that contains the entire book's folder, select the book's folder in the dialog.

3.  Activate the "Select Folder" button at the bottom of the dialog.

4.  All chapters of the book should load into the play list area and begin playing with the first chapter (that is provided the chapter media files are numbered correctly, and I have little doubt that they are).

Are you trying to listen only to selected chapters from the book?   If so, are you creating a playlist containing those chapters?

Hopefully, because I have some technical problems and I cand use JAWS properly...
And maybe, if you have to prepare a braille document, you can use Perky Duck of Duxbury? That's easier then switching to JAWS...
It's freeware!

NVDA does not have input UEB table. When I need to prepare a braille document with the typeforms you mention I use JAWS. Hopefully NVDA will soon be fullly operational with UEB. If still I have not answered your question perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I, will.

One can always use the grade one version of UEB. There should be
settings to change the braille display to using eight dots instead of
six, but I am not sure what else you can do with the extra dots other than underline.

Holger,

When you say VLC App are you referring to the VLC App that you get through the Windows 10 App Store or the VLC Desktop App that gets installed if you download VLC and install it?

If you hit WinKey and immediately type VLC the App you're using should be the first thing returned in the search results.  If it's noted as a desktop app then it's the installed version.  Since both exist this could make a difference.  I don't use the Apps Store version.

Re: Accessibility of online banking service for NVDA users

Antony Stone

If you're interested in UK based banks,
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=accessible+online+banking gives quite a
number of accessibility statements from the various banks themselves.

Also, from personal experience, I can say that Deutsche Bank (in Germany) has
an accessible online service, although transactions do have to be confirmed
with a number from a printed list they send out. The list can be read using
OCR, though.

Re: Latest Station Playlist Addon

Roger Stewart

The latest version is 2017.04 and it should be on the add ons site. There is a dev version which has a couple more features but isn't recommended for production use as all bugs may not be found and fixed yet but it should work fairly well. I use the stable version for on air and the dev or snapshot versions for testing.

NVDA does not announce title for modal dialog in web

Ramakrishnan Subramanian

Dear members,
I kindly request your inputs on the following:
For modal dialogs, unlike JAWS, NVDA does not announce the title while
pressing insert+T, in IE, FF, and Chrome as well.
Is this an NVDA bug?
In web pages, NVDA is announcing the page title instead the dialog title.
Where as, in desktop, it announces the dialog title. Not the application title.
Generally, the expected behavior is the desktop behavior should be
replicated in the web as well. Right?
If this can be considered as a bug, could any one explain how to file a bug with NVDA?

Thanks for your inputs,
Ramakrishnan
