Re: Scilence at NVDA con
You can find a link that will do that if you go to nvdacon.org and click the link that says how to join us. If you scroll down that page, you'll find it.

Hi,
If you have a web browser such as Mozilla Firefox you can read e pub books. Hope this helps.

As I've posted before (in several places) non-drm epub books are simply html files with other files included to make navigating the books easier. You can simply rename the epub to .zip, extract it, and read it with the web browser of your choice, no special software required. Doing it this way won't give you the navigation features, (table of contents, previous/next, and so on), but it's a quick and simple way to read the books without having to install extra software for the job.

Jonathan: Â Thanks for the codefactory info about the vocalizer and eloquence voices. Â I checked on the web page you sent, and it says the price for the addd-on is 59 euros. Â Siri tells me that this converts to $66.10. Â So, what I now have to decide is whether the purchase would be worthwhile for me. Â As of now, my intent is still to use NVDA as a backup, since my current Jaws Sma covers me through Jaws 20, but there is always room to re-think this. Â Thanks very much for the help. Re: Other NVDA Voices?

If you use the add on for Eloquence, it is poor
quality because it has a lot of artifacts.Â
Â
Code factory has a SAPI5 version of Eloquence that
works well. Both are available as demos so you can try them. The add
on has eloquence and another set of voices. I'm not sure if those are the
other ones you asked about. I assume you can get the other voices
separately but I don't use them and I haven't paid much attention to
them.
