I’m talking about using right arrow. Carriage return just sounds really wordy and I’m not sure new users would know what it means. No, I guess Blank wouldn’t be best, but new line would be great.

What are you describing?  If I down arrow through a document in any application, a blank line is announced as blank.  If I move character by character, a carriage return is announced as carriage return.  I suppose this could be shortened to return but I don't have any feelings about that one way or another.  But there should certainly be a distinction of this type when moving by character.  Saying blank is inaccurate when moving by character but it isn't blank.  It’s a formatting character.

Are you saying that in the Windows e-mail app, when moving by down arrowing blank lines aren't indicated with the word blank?

Hi all. Coming from Linux and Mac, I was a little surprised to find that, at least in the Windows 10 mail app, NVDA shows a new line as carriage return. Is this necessary now? Shouldn’t this be changed to something more understandable, like new line, or even blank?

As this issue impacts many users, among other performance issues, I
think that an NVDA 2017.2.1 release is warranted.

Yup, same here. I have a snapshot in the Next branch which I tried, hoping it would be fixed, but, yeah... no go.

hi,

also experiencing this on next snapshot. It is very annoying, as the
notification is repeated about 4-5 times.

Hi,
How about those running 2016.4 (if anyone is running that one at the
moment)? If this is the same in that version, chances are that we're dealing
with yet another one of those odd and confusing UI Automation problem where
the specifications and the practices are walking a parallel road (i.e.
feedback on implementation issues is in order).
Cheers,
Joseph

It doesn't apply.  Increasing inflection means that inflections, already used, are emphasized.  A raising of the voice would be raised higher, for example,  If a synthesizer lowers its tone while reading a certain sentence, then increasing inflexion means that this will be emphasized as well as any other changes.  What is being asked about is making NVDA cause a synthesizer to do something that isn't done at all now so increasing inflexion can't increase something that isn't done.

Hi Sally,

Both the synthetic Eloquence and the more (though not really) human-sounding Vocaliser Expressive bundled in the add-on come with English, Spanish and German.

Re: problems with remote access addon #NVAccess

No problem when I first started using it. The key is both machines have to be logged in locally, they can't be in remote desktop sessions when you try to use the remote add on. So you have to log into each machine locally so that they're both using the user account configuration. Does that help?
