Hi!
To explain: When merging Master into Next, it doesn't mean that afterwards they will be identical. It means: Next gets all the changes that were done to Master since they diverged. So the sounds are not affected, and Next keeps the new ones. Does that make sense?
Kind regards,
Felix

Hi, David,

I don't even own an Apple product. They're so expensive anyway. I think it's great that Microsoft really wants to make windows 10 as accessible as it can be and it looks like they're doing a good job. I don't even own an iPhone.

Amen! I am so happy you are seeing the light! Apple is just patting people on the head and saying, there you go, you poor disabled person, I did this for you to make this accessible. They do not care about the Disabled at all. All they want is money. Now Microsoft, they are begging for our input on making win10 as accessible as it can be. MS really cares about us blind people, and many blind people are employed by Microsoft. Another company who goes out of the way to make the product accessible is Drop Box. They actually train some of their workers to use Drop Box under blind folds. That is how far they go out of the way to be accessible. Apple just wants a pat on the back for making their iPhones and so on accessible right out of the box. Microsoft will knock Apple out of the water someday, I can’t wait to celebrate when they do LOL!

Have a great one, guys!

This was a common issue at one point last year, and we fixed it in NVDA 2016.3.  I had a report of it recently from someone after updating to NVDA 2017.2, but then they advised it disappeared again.  I just had a look myself and couldn't reproduce it on my machine.  I forced Outlook 2016 to check for updates and it did do an update and it still isn't giving that message for me now.

The code? Yes. The addon file? No.

It should be safe enough to use, though. It's based on commit 4810483a9,

which was reverted.

Maybe it crashed for some people.

Support for these voices will eventually end up in NVDA core. They're

being tested on next right now, with a new driver.

I'm running next and it's working fine. YMMV.

Re: Beware Jarte 6.1 folks

I would suggest that the person who has the problem try downloading it again if he/she hasn't.  Files may become corrupted during downloads with no indication that it has happened.

That's odd. I installed Jarte 6.1 a while ago and had no issues
accessing my files afterward. It's been working just fine.

Re: Sapi 5 mobile add-on

Hello,

How do you get the mark voice mobile?

Thanks.
Dave.

Ah: That’s great.

Both the Mark and Richard voices are fairly lively sounding and will make
excellent alternatives. Not as responsive as eSpeak, but, they do add more
choices.

Thanks!

Hi,
There will come a day when you don’t have to visit that website nor install
that add-on to use that synthesizer with NVDA.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi list:

I found an add-on on the page called “Jeff’s NVDA Add-on Page” that allows
NVDA to be used with the SAPI 5 mobile voices, of which there are 2 really
perky ones, Mark in the US English category and Richard in the US Canada
category.

Was this written by NV Access.  It says it was, but, it doesn't seem to be
on the regular NVDA add-ons page, and, if it was written by NV Access, I
would have thought it would be right there.

This would seem to be a useful add-on to be readily available, but, maybe
it's too bugy or something.  Or, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place on the
main NV Access add-ons pages.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The code? Yes. The addon file? No.
It should be safe enough to use, though. It's based on commit 4810483a9, which was reverted.
Maybe it crashed for some people.

Support for these voices will eventually end up in NVDA core. They're being tested on next right now, with a new driver.
I'm running next and it's working fine. YMMV.

Re: Where are the add-ons hiding?

Joseph Norton

The official NVDA add-ons page is:

https://addons.nvda-project.org/index.en.html

There is an unofficial add-ons page maintained by Jeff Rutkowski.  I've seen a couple things on it I've not run across on the official page:

http://jeff.tdrealms.com/NVDA.htm

Hope this helps.

Hi,

They are not SAPI 5, they are Windows Platform voices.

All the best

Steve
