Running latest released version of NVDA on a win 10 64 bit machine. Just noticed that while in a browser, IE or Chrome or Firefox, when selecting text and copying it to the clip board with control c NVDA now says copied to clipboard. I don't think it did this in the past. still no announcement of pasted from clipboard or cut to clipboard. Have I totally lost it or is this something new and if it is new can we get more such key labels added as well?

Windows update for 7 fix
Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>
Several people including me had an issue with this months windows update on 7.
it kept on trying to install an update and failing every day. After some poking about this tuned out to be the reason. The current browsers on this 64 bait machine are 32 bit and this also goes for silverlight which is of no use to us after all, but the update to Silverlight the operating system had downloaded was in fact for the 64 bit version and hence did not install. I uninstalled the 32 bit executable downloaded the 64 bit one and installed it and the update then installed. Nothing else seems to have been affected. This sounds like a question for one of the Microsoft forums. Yes i hate them as well, but sometimes you can find some good hints. it seems that sometimes some file gets not updated and the update process gets into a loop At least in your case it has not trashed the computer as it tended to do on older operating systems, fortunately.

I have never seen any reports of a blind Internet user, using browse mode, being able to drag and drop. Browse mode doesn't work directly with the page. It presents its own version of the page for easier movement. When the add on says that the item is inaccessible, it is probably being accurate and working properly. The actual item is probably not accessible for dragging and dropping if browse mode is being used. If it isn't, browsers may write to the screen now in such a way that the program may not be able to see the item. I don't know if browsers allow you to change how material is written to the screen. there may be another or other reasons drag and drop doesn't work in browsers that I don't have the knowledge to discuss. But unless someone surprises me with a solution for the add on or in general, I'm not surprised that the add on doesn't work when used with a browser. Yes and people wonder why folk go to Tbird and the hacked outlook express. They keep on breaking mail and have never really had one that was accessible since Live mail. Outlook express was in many ways better than that as well.

Re: nvda freezing in web browsers

This in Chrome. Did you say it also affected Firefox?

I notice here that when the snapshot is loading we are already getting complaints of slow loading core and freezes. Is this machine a multi processor one or single processor? It only hads4 gig of memory. since I had earlier issues with general hiccupping scrolling in ordinary explorer I put in 8 gig and that went away. Brian bglists@blueyonder.co.uk Sent via blueyonder.
