I would suggest checking for disk errors and drive space. Open settings and search for admin – administrative tools. Select Disk Cleanup and pick drive C. Locate Cleanup system files button. And pick drive C again. Select all available items in list and confirm. This could be many gigabytes of data. I had to obtain a DVD for install to recover one system when downloading to it did not work. Creators Update is worth upgrading to.

A few days ago we'd gotten a notification about privacy settings to get the Creator's update for Windows 10 and kept waiting until someone directed us to this web site where we were supposed to be able to get the latest version, so we installed the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant thinking this would help us do just this. Yesterday, we thought we'd gotten the upgrade, but then this morning around 1:25 EST, I got a notification to upgrade, so I did. The Windows 10 update assistant keeps telling us that we're not running the latest version and that it can help us get it so it's been run a few times and we can not get past 14393. What's wrong and how can we get past this? When running the Windows 10 Update Assistant and checking the progress with Narrator, it switches from female to male voices. Which voice is the right one to let us know it's working right and does this mean anything?
Please help? We're both totally blind so no mouse or sighted instructions will do us any good as it's very hard to get working eyes around here. We use the latest version of NVDA, but if we have to can also switch to the latest version of JAWS to get this job done. Any help would be greatly appreciated? Thanks.--

As the issues between LibreOffice and NVDA are counted only in the
hands, so few they are, I think that LibreOffice has sufficiently good
accessibility built in.

For this same reason, the number of workers or hours to solve the
problems may not be so great.
The problem here seems to be a lack of communication between the
developers of both software.
The fact of Word being use in academic settings, at least here in
Brazil, is not the case. My graduation course had a discipline to teach
LibreOffice and it was the suite used by the Federal University -- all
of them use it.
As I see one release after another of NVDA simply not given LibreOffice
the attention it certainly deserves, the only logical conclusion is that
it is being neglected. I am sorry.

In every new NVDA version, we see many enhancements related to MS
Office, but LibreOffice is ignored.

In fact, as I noted in many messages in this group, LibreOffice and NVDA

Hey Lisa,


When I installed the creators update on my laptop, it took all night.
And they say that it should be about 90 minutes or so to install. I
wanted to laugh but then again, this is Microsoft. You'll have to be
patient with it. And the darn thing does not, and will not install on
my desktop at all. I think part of the reason is that my desktop is a
hybrid.

I am using the latest version of NVDA. Getting to the bookmarks does
work with hitting the alt key followed by spacebar then b. Still a
little messy as it seems to open the bookmarks and put you on a random

does not work. Doesn't seem that Google is great on their user interface.

For those using Windows 10 and Windows 10 App Essentials: Version 17.06.2A
is now available, fixing the critical issue of not being able to use browse
mode in Windows 10 Mail app. This patch is considered critical, as without
this, more recent Mail app versions will not be supported by NVDA properly.

Hi. Just tried using the add-in for drag and drop on the latest NVDA. I
was working on a survey. There was a list of 23 statements and I had to
drag them in to 5 one of the 5 areas above. Each time I pressed the command
for marking what I wanted to drag it said unknown inaccessible from here.
When I attempted to drag the statement in to the correct category I got the
message Could not find marked object to drop.

What am I missing? Is there a mouse setting I need to make sure is set
correctly? It seems so easy but can't get it to work so had to give up on
my survey.

When I first started using NVDA back in 2010, I had run it on a machine
running a version of windows server with Microsoft Anna and you're
right. It wasn't bad at all except for the volume. I believe it was
2008 at that time.
