Well to be honest unless you use excell I use jarte pluss and that works.

office 2010 and 2007 are still supported offices and still use bits of the older interface.

I still have an old fully legal coppy of office xp but its not going to work on 10 is it, unless there is a way.

Then again jarte and the right converters are all I need I don't need the rest.

I have heard about wps office which is a 30 dollar subscription also a free one if you don't mind your documents being marked, you can also buy a lifetime licence for 1 pc for 80 dollars, the 30 per year subscription gives you smart phone access.

Aparently its been round since 1997 and is chinese owned but I am unsure if it is accessible or not.

Its still cheaper per system than ms office is to be honest though.

Where something like 365 does come in is if you have multiple devices, use onedrive and make a lot of skype calls.

There are subscriptions that will make it worth your while.

While I have not found out how to do it with dropbox google drive has a plugin for direct saving to google drive and I have installed it.

Pluss it appears ms office has a few free programs.

sway, todo, lens and one note are all free programs for just about everything.

A standard user only needs the home version which is only about 140 dollars.

The business versions have things like powerpoint publisher, access and outlook the home version is word powerpoint and excell which is about all everyone needs to be honest.

If you do work in a company there is the home use program and this is how the family bar me use to have office on their systems.

You can still buy Office 2016 as a standalone purchase (rather than Office
365 subscription). That works exactly the same as Office 365 for now - of
course when Office 2018 or whatever the next version is comes out, you
won't get that if you buy the full Office 2016, but in any case, NVDA works
with either variant.

Office 365 is the subscription service that gives you access to latest
Office builds. In other words, yes, Office 2016 is usable with NVDA.

UBitMenu (Not Tested Myself but have heard it works)
UBitMenu makes itself a new tab in your MS Office ribbon menu. Just activate this tab and you have the classic menus from MS Office 2003 in your up-to-date copy of MS Office.
Note: Although I have not tested this myself, other users have reported this works with NVDA.

Ribbon Disabler
Ribbon Disabler removes the ribbon tab from Windows Explorer, replacing it with the classic menu bar. Download the file, and unzip it. Next, look at the folder. If you are running a 64-bit copy of Windows 10, run the file called "Ribbon disabler3 x64". If running a 32-bit copy of Windows 10, run the file called "Ribbon disabler3". Once the program opens, click the button labeled "Disable Ribbon Explorer ". The program should ask you to log off. Do so, Next, log back on... and boom. To uninstall, just run the program you ran earlier. You will be presented with a button that says "Enable Ribbon Explorer". Click it. Again, you should be prompted to log off and back on. Your Windows Explorer should look normal again.

If you are using that key combination for something else in Firefox that you had previously designated yourself, just go into the view menu and arrow to the reader view option manually and hit enter. Shouldn't that work for you even though you redesignated that key combination for your personal use?

Just made a purchase yesterday with no problems. Maybe I do it the hard way but I simply go to the top of the page and then do a NVDA search for add and find the add to cart button. Same thing to find the proceed to checkout.

Its so unpredictable. I have not had it on freelists for a long time now, but groups.io seems to be flavour of the month for it. What I don't get is that even before i take the unbounce link emails are being bounced into the account. If the site can send me bounces why not the actual mail itself?

Well just open WLM and go to your inbox and NVDA will read everything and you can not stop it from talking. Also it is slow in IE 11. Before NVDA was very responsive. What is going on?

Well just open WLM and go to your inbox and NVDA will read everything and you can not stop it from talking. Also it is slow in IE 11. Before NVDA was very responsive. What is going on?

NVDA is talking even when I press insert or control key. Also NVDA is slow and not responsive. This is a recent thing.What I can do? Using W10 and new NVDA. Help.

Hi list was finishing up a game chat on games galore and more. my NVDA was toggled speech mode off so I didn’t have a conflict with the golf game I was playing. when I snapped it back to talk saw a yes and no button am thinking it was app essentials. when I hit yes got an error downloading addon message. what do I do to update that windows 10 app esentials and make sure that update installs properly. I think it was because of the talking communities client and the kitchen game running that messed up the update.  will it prompt me again?

To be honest unless somebody really really needs the new stuff in every new office program, its not worth it to upgrade. many of my machines still use Word 2002 or 2003 and they do all I need. Its a great pity Microsoft used docx files but there are conversion programs for those.

You can still buy Office 2016 as a standalone purchase (rather than Office
365 subscription). That works exactly the same as Office 365 for now - of
course when Office 2018 or whatever the next version is comes out, you
won't get that if you buy the full Office 2016, but in any case, NVDA works
with either variant.

Office 365 is the subscription service that gives you access to latest
Office builds. In other words, yes, Office 2016 is usable with NVDA.

I have a theory that its the isps that are trying to stop spam by doing some things like bouncing things from domains that send outlots of mail. No regard for mail list operators of course.

The version that I did not have issues was the one that was in January and the one that came out around May or close I think the problem.

I cannot confirn this on win10 and outlook 2016. On win8.1 and outlook 2010 neather.

Did you try to change the synthesizer or to reinstall nvda? Do you have the same issue then?

Joseph, I wonder if you can reproduce a problem I have encountered with various versions of Outlook. Currently, I am using Office 2016. It's actually more an annoyance than a problem. Here goes:

In composing messages, I may hear unrelated words when I move from one field to another before the correct text is read. This happens frequently, but unpredictably, as far as I can figure (but, of course, that's not very far). In writing this message, for example, I just went back to the top and then jumped up to the subject field, using shift-tab. It read to me, "One inches dear folks subject alt u another outlook issue." On other occasions, but not this time, when I drop back down into the message field, it may first read the subject line of an unrelated email that I have just opened.

Still no resolution.
