hi

look for the following settings under the browse mode settings called Audio indication of focus and browse modes and uncheck this box, then tab down to the ok button then press the enter key.

instead of sounds now you will hear browse mode and focus mode that is what all of my machines are set to.

Hi,

Speaking of Windows 10 App Essentials: If I heard some sources correctly, there is a chance that another feature might make it to NVDA soon, a feature that, if it comes to NVDA 2017.3, will be a game changer, particularly later this year.

Cheers,

Joseph

Microsoft Word add-on was one. Also features of a program called vTurbo were also added. Windows 10 App Essentials add-on gets some features added to NVDA every release.

I think the Profile Dictionary add-on that is being circulated will also be incorporated into NVDA. The Phone Operation Helper add-on has similar features to those in Next snapshots. There are many more.

"Unknown"

Pat Slick <patslick53@...>

Hello,

I dictate to my iPhone here so please excuse if it gets garbled.

When I get my pointer on a line as I have a bit of vision to see the line I often get the word"Unknown". Is this a problem with the pointer or is there some other way to overcome this problem?

Thank you very much indeed.

Pat

P. S. Where is "I. Oh."?

Thanks

Yes,

I have a text tutorial on that web site. It goes through how to use the win10 mail, calendar, and People apps. I use it all the time.

Yes,

I am using the win10 mail app great with NVDA. I use it all the time, along with the calendar and people apps. Also, the Skype app works great with NVDA. The news app works 90 percent with NVDA, also, the One Note app works pretty well with NVDA. I use the Weather app with NVDA a lot, and Store of course. The win10 Store works very well with NVDA. I will do tutorials on some of these apps if you all want.

Snapshots play error sounds.  Production versions don't.  That doesn't mean the same error isn't occurring in the assumedly, production version you were using before.

On this site there are many old addons. Some addons are allready implemented into NVDA itself. The autor isn't updating the addons.
On the addons.nvda-project.org you are save to have tested and rewiewed addons.
On jeffs site, you are not, even if the addon is working for you, you don't know wheather someone has implemented malware into an addon.

I often see an edit field announced as unavailable with NVDA whether it is or not.  This is nothing new with the latest version of NVDA.  Just Just ignore it.  Maybe it will be corrected at some point but it doesn't mean anything.

The folders named like "Windows.old" must be deleted through Windows disk

1. Start disk clean up by "local disk c:" properties.
2. Wait for creation the liste of the deletable files, and pres alt+s.
3. Wait for list again.
4. check list items You want to clean. (I always check all items.) for
Windows.old folders, check "old Windows installation files".
5. pres "ok", "delete files", and "yes" buttons.

Hi,

I did a similar search yesterday typing in the phrase VLC media player
help
and they do have a wiki with all of their documentation there including a
table listing all of the available hot keys. Since it is an open source
project, some of the writing is dated, I believe that one of the files
was
last updated as far back as 2011 with no updates since then though. The
program itself, uses the classic windows graphic user interface and as
you
arrow through the menus, the corresponding keyboard shortcuts are
presented
to you so if push comes to shove, you can with a degree of patience
create
your own custom sheet tailored to your needs.

There is, evidently, a lot of help documentation on the web site but I
haven't checked. But if you open help in the player, you are referred to
the web site. In the case of popular programs, there is often a good
deal
of material that has nothing to do with the web site. So don't do
searches
that specify the web site. Just search for something like VLC tutorial.
You might also want to search for things like VLC help or VLC manual.
You
may get better results by using the phrase VLC Media Player before what
you

things that occurred before but without speech so you didn't know that
anything was happening or if you did, you had to memorize or guess what.
After the add on is installed open VLC player and tab. You will tab
through
lots of items. To change the state of an item, press enter on it. The
space bar doesn't do anything. Letters that are short cut commands take
actions which are announced. I don't think the commands you can control
by
short cut commands are in addition to those you can perform by tabbing.
I
think they are some of the same commands. I don't know how many are
provided. If you get a list of short cuts for VLC Player, you can try
various letter shortcuts. One of them, for example, is shuffle on and
off.
The letter r controls this command. In the list of short cuts, this is
described as random. Wouldn't it be nice if VLC player documentation
used
the English language as we know it? The generally accepted name for the
command is not random, but shuffle.
