Well I use Outlook Express but it did work in 10, but when a major update is due you have to reinstall it as Microsoft don't like you using it.
I don't know if Live mail is affected in the same way.

As far as I know, the only problem with using Windows Live Mail in Windows 10 is that when writing messages or replying, etc. you can't read what you have written unless you leave and return to the window. This can be done very conveniently and quickly by pressing alt to move to the ribbons, then pressing alt again to move back to the window you were in. I can't say whether the app is worth using. You could try this I got from a forum page:

 

1 Press Windows key and type Windows PowerShell in the search bar.

2 Select the Windows PowerShell desktop app in the list, press applications key and select Run as administrator.

3 Enter the below command to reinstall the Mail and calendar app.

               get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

4 type exit and press enter to close Power Shell

After performing the above steps, install the Mail and calendar app from the Windows store.

windows ten mail app brows mode is again supported in nvda 2017.3
you can this version of nvda one month later.
i read and follow github milestone every day or at least every week
and realized it.

I have traced it to Clipspeak add on but really I cannot see how such an add on might be interacting with Microsoft word. If you have seen this, please let the group know. Its only when pasting into the word document.

Hi

After starting the Edge browser:

press alt+x to open the Edge menu, press up arrow then press spacebar on the Settings entry. 

This will open the Settings dialog box, tab until you find ‘Show Advanced Settings’ and press spacebar to activate. 

Tab down to ‘Change Search Engine’ and press spacebar to activate. 

This opens a dialog box, tab down to the list of search engines and then use up/down arrows to navigate the list. 

Select Google, tab out of the list and activate the ‘Set as default’ button. 

Tab to the ‘Back’ button and press spacebar. 

You return to the previous dialog, tab to the back button on this and press spacebar.

Press escape to exit the Settings menu.

Press tab to put focus into the displayed web page.

I know I've seen this issue with another edit box in Excel, but I can't find an issue about it.  In any case, I've created a new issue: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/7416 and hopefully fixing one of these edit boxes will fix others.

I see what you mean.  There are a couple of other places in Excel that do that as well - Either the selected cells, or the current cell are listed in that "refers to" edit box, and all selected.  For some reason, in many of its edit boxes, when text is selected, all we can see is "blank".  When you get to that edit box, press F2 to go into edit mode, then press an arrow to unselect everything.  If you don't press F2 then as soon as you press an arrow, it will move the focus.

 

Another way of naming a cell or range, is to select either the cell or range you want to name, then press alt+f3, which takes you to the name box, you can then type a name and press ENTER.  Because that does it directly, it can be quicker, but also doesn't give you the list of existing names to check against first.  You can down arrow in the edit box and it will go through the existing names.  Pressing ENTER on any name will move the highlight to that named cell or range.

I then paste this formula blind into the “Refers to” edit field and tab to “Close” to save the edit. I can see the result in the listing under control-F3.

If you read further down the thread I weeded out lots of things from start up using autorun and then deleted all stuff pertaining to it after a reboot. This allowed the msi version of the previous version, around 33 meg in size, to install without seeing an updater file, so it then let me log in and its been working since, since there is noupdater for it to update with.
Obviously, I have no idea how long Google will support the old system, but I imagine the actual method of working is the same on the new one its just allowed to back up any folder you want in the backup and store version.
Shame its obviously broken and crashes a lot. Might have another look in a few months to see if they have fixed it.

What a bloomin mess. Somebody needs to do more testing.
So how can I reinstall the old version without it keeping on saying I'm running an old version and wanting to update it all the time. I only want to swap files from one folder. the new version even if the dialogue text was accessible which its not and even if it did not pop up at every start up which it does and even if it actually worked when you clicked the tray icon instead of falling over, which it won't, its overkill.

I see what you mean.  There are a couple of other places in Excel that do that as well - Either the selected cells, or the current cell are listed in that "refers to" edit box, and all selected.  For some reason, in many of its edit boxes, when text is selected, all we can see is "blank".  When you get to that edit box, press F2 to go into edit mode, then press an arrow to unselect everything.  If you don't press F2 then as soon as you press an arrow, it will move the focus.

 

Another way of naming a cell or range, is to select either the cell or range you want to name, then press alt+f3, which takes you to the name box, you can then type a name and press ENTER.  Because that does it directly, it can be quicker, but also doesn't give you the list of existing names to check against first.  You can down arrow in the edit box and it will go through the existing names.  Pressing ENTER on any name will move the highlight to that named cell or range.

I can capture the formula using the NVDA screen capture keys from the display of the formula under control-F3 and paste it into Notepad for amendment.

The only way I can edit it is to press alt-r and then mess around with the arrow keys until I get “Sheet1!a1 or something similar. This code is nothing like the actual formula that I would have put into the “Refers To” box and which I can see on the listing of the Defined name using control+F3. I backspace all of this until NVDA is silent. Then I go to my formula in Notepad -something like:

=”B” & Match(“Totals”, $B:$B , 0)

Which gives me the address of a particular cell that can move around as work proceeds on the sheet.

I then paste this formula blind into the “Refers to” edit field and tab to “Close” to save the edit. I can see the result in the listing under control-F3.

 

It would be so much easier if I could actually edit it in the edit box! Have you any solution to this?

Well I tried to install old google drive and old google drive may exist but its all that way now.

I have this new drive photo sync on my aunt's new system so she could use it, are you saying I should get rid of it.

What a bloomin mess. Somebody needs to do more testing.
So how can I reinstall the old version without it keeping on saying I'm running an old version and wanting to update it all the time. I only want to swap files from one folder. the new version even if the dialogue text was accessible which its not and even if it did not pop up at every start up which it does and even if it actually worked when you clicked the tray icon instead of falling over, which it won't, its overkill.

The JAWS cursor is not equivalent to object navigation.  The JAWS cursor is similar to screen navigation in NVDA.
I haven't played with moving the mouse and hearing speech in NVDA.  I would imagine that it is similar to the JAWS cursor and screen navihgation in NVDA.  It may be somehow different in some ways as well but not having tried it, I'm just speculating and guessing, based on some comments I've seen about the feature here.  Whatever the case, it isn't like object navigation or touch screen navigation.

jaws cursor and NVDA object navigation both has the capacity to
operate systems as we are using mouse. NVDA reads even if we drag
