Re: wraping to top of web page

While I also thought about it a while ago, I'm quite comfortable with just using ctrl + home, and then E again, and, like you say, it is at times, more convenient to just know you've reached the last one.
OTOH, what might be nice would be the ability to use the elements
listing dialogue for form elements at times?
Stay well

Hello,
I've been working with online Bible a lot in the past, however
that was back when I was using JAWS. Is there a particular reason
why you belief you're in need of an add-on? Regards, Leonard

Re: wraping to top of web page

Whether wrapping is worth adding depends, in my
opinion on the following determination. If, for example, you look at all
edit fields, and get to the bottom, if you want to move back one or two edit
fields and there may be five or six or more on the page, using shift e is far
more convenient than having a wrap which puts you back at the top again.
there are times when wrapping will return you to the first edit field, which may
be the one you want to use. But my question is, how often does it result,
instead, in more inconvenience to get back to a field you want to use farther
down the page? Unless it is known that wrapping leads to significantly
more convenience than inconvenience, it might be worth adding. But if this
is not known, then perhaps surveying users is in order.

the e key to get to a edit box and you keeping pressing e to get to the next edit box when there are no more edit boxes it will wrap back to the top of the page. This somewhat handy when searching for all edit boxes on a web page. I find that there is no way to do this NVDA as far as I can tell. Has this function ever been considered for an addition to NVDA? As a long term Window Eyes user I am now using NVDA as my primary screen reader with Jaws being used very little and WE not being used at all. Thanks

Bible Seeker from the below address is very good with NVDA. The site has over a dozen bible translations and the search is accessible. They say the latest version is 2.03 from 2017. I don't know why that is. I have 2.03 from 2015. I would assume it's the same program. The size for download is the same. http://bible_seeker.en.downloadastro.com/

Both Window Eyes and Jaws have a feature where for example if you press the e key to get to a edit box and you keeping pressing e to get to the next edit box when there are no more edit boxes it will wrap back to the top of the page. This somewhat handy when searching for all edit boxes on a web page. I find that there is no way to do this NVDA as far as I can tell.

Re: NVDA and the Online Bible

I don't know anything about a Bible or an online
Bible program called The Online Bible. The Internet has lots of sites you
can use to read the Bible, see commentary, and perhaps do other things as
well. I haven't researched all the things you can do. There are
Bible programs you can use on your computer as well that others can
discuss. If you let us know what you want to do and if there is any
specific translation of the Bible you want, you might get much better
help.

Is there an NVDA add-on for the Online Bible? If not, can anyone recommend a good off-line Bible that would work with NVDA?
Thanks all over the place gang.

Magnifiers and NVDA
Bill Sallander <bsallander@...>
Hello all: I’m a new assistive technology instructor here at the Center For The Visually Impaired in Daytona Beach Florida. I have a client who may benefit from both a Screen reader such as NVDA as well as a magnifier such as Zoomtext. Is there a possibility that such a magnifier can be used in conjunction with NVDA? If so, where can I find any documentation for such a setup? I believe at some time in the future the client may need to depend on a screen reader only; I’m just exploring all avenues at this time.

Good find! Yes it's a tricky one because it uses insert which is usually a giveaway that a command is an NVDA command, but in this case, it's not!

Re: the nvda audio page
Gene New Zealand <hurrikennyandopo@...>
hi
if you are referring to the nvda audio tutorials page that comes off the accessibility central website the main index file has been replaced with some ones else's index file or they have redirected the index file some how to there own site?
I have reported this to the hosting site etc but hope to have it back up soon. This has never happened to me before.
At present now you might get a 404 error until some thing is put back in its place.

customize braille output with abbreviations?
Simone Dal Maso
Hello,
Do you know if there are some methods to make abbreviations in braille? Here is an example: in thunderbird message list, you can find word like "grouped", "attachment", "read", "replied", etc. It is very annoying to read these terms in Braille, because they fill the display with long words. For example, instead of attachments, I'd like to read [atchm]. Is it difficult to implement this on NVDA? Thanks.

Re: Paste Defined Name in Excel
Cearbhall O'Meadhra
Quentin,
I always thought that the Insert+F3 command was an NVDA command but I discovered to my surprise that it is actually an Excel command. It allows the user to paste the defined Name of their choice into an edit box or a single cell, etc. It is a really useful tool when editing.
All the best,
Cearbhall

You're welcome Cearbhall,
I know I've seen this issue with another edit box in Excel, but I can't find an issue about it. In any case, I've created a new issue: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/7416 and hopefully fixing one of these edit boxes will fix others.
Quentin.
