Is Control+d a keystroke specific to this browser? IE, Firefox, Edge and Chrome all use alt+d for this function.

I'll try it out on captcha at some stage, but, while the web content handling seems to work fine with NVDA, it's interface isn't my style/choice otherwise - ctrl + D is meant to highlight address bar, but, doesn't seem to work properly, for example.

Also, this setting isn't saved. If you turn
off single letter navigation keys, when you unload and run NVDA again, the
setting reverts to single letter navigation keys on. But it's worth
playing with the setting to see if it does change. Then NVDA must be
unloaded and run again to see if single navigation is still off. Also,
before you unload NVDA and run it again, close the browser and open it after you
run NVDA again. If you don't do so, browse mode may not function in the
browser and you will get meaningless results of the test.

Vivaldi Web Browser: First Impressions
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
With all this talk about Vivaldi web browser, I thought I would give it a try. It has promise. Quick key navigation works; the interface reminds me of Google Chrome; the text is read quite easily as in other accessible browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer. There are a series of issues that make it a bit clumsy. The menus are similar to Google Chrome. There is one menu with sub menus which involve the use of the tree view type navigation system. This isn't a big problem once you get use to it. The main problem I am having is setting the browser up. The settings panel is all buttons. While the screen changes, it is difficult to keep track of the input and just what buttons to press to accept the changes. In other words, there is no OK button and you really don't know if you have successfully made a change until you close the settings panel and try the changes out. In addition, unless there is a way to remove this and because of my difficulty with the settings panel, there might be, the browser opens with a navigation panel consisting of buttons. I would really like to get rid of this panel and have the page load normally as in other browsers. If anyone else tries out this browser and can figure out just how to change settings more easily and how to get rid of the start panel that appears at the top of every page, I would appreciate the information and this for me would make the browser a reasonable alternative to the other standard fare. -- They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes. I found when I had the issue I had to reboot the machine for it to be correct.

Indeed even now, occasionally the nvda menu and the context menus can fail for no apparent reason but this is not due to a deregistering merely a corrupt registry temporarily caused by a program you ran crashing. a restart of the computer will fix it I find. You ar lucky as some versions of this problem also make the page never create a virtual buffer and the page acts like its blank, or unknown or like its permenently in focus mode depending on how bad the corruption of dlls is I suppose.

I think from reading all the mail on this one its obvious that some corruption of or non registration of some .DLL files has occurred. Sadly on some of these the only effect of their failure is that many accessibility features are crippled.

I expect somebody will be along soon with the ticket for this, and the many possible solutions. I have also seen it on older versions of Windows, so I'm sure its a common issue on many computers, but only we notice it, relying on the access systems that are broken by it. Last time I saw it I did it with an uninstall of Office 2010, so its been an issue for some time in Office uninstallers. Brian bglists@... Sent via blueyonder. Hi I don't have Windows 10 here, but if you only have this old version of Outlook and wish to continue using it, unless somebody else here can say it still works for them, you may only have two choices.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
1 go back to the previous version of Windows 10 2 find another email program that works. I know that officially Microsoft do not support Office software prior to 2007 for Windows 10, so 2003, although, in my view a [perfectly usable set of programs, might not have been checked with the new code in the latest windows 10 update. Anyone out there using Outlook 2003 on the latest incarnation of Windows 10. Most people I know are using the newer versions of Outlook the ones with the ribbons. Otherwise Sakina could try a search for Outlook crashing in windows 10 and see if its happening to anyone else. but its early days yet and from past experience it could take ages to find somebody with the same software combination. Re: Vivaldi Web Browser

Well, this as I recall is a brainchild of the original programmers who made Opera. I also remember reading that for those with poor vision it can easily zoom change sizes of items and colour contrast and has keyboard shortcuts. What I'm not so sure about its whether it actually has an API that screenreaders can hook into. I guess one would need to download it and try.
