thanks but I am not using the same version as you and as I keep saying it works perfectly with nvda version 2017.2 but not with the RC using 32 bit fire fox windows10 home 64bit this is getting very frustrating now.

One has to tab to find the actual displayed page. I am thinking

Running NVDA 2017.3 RC1 on a Win 10 system.
Just installed LibreOffice and attempted to open and modify a MS Office 2003 document. If I change the document and select to save it as the original .doc file type it crashes LibreOffice to the point of needing a hard reboot to clear it. Is this a known issue with trying to use LibreOffice with Microsoft Office documents?

There is no connection between clickable and links. Clickable items are
items that may take an action when you press enter or click on them. They
aren't links. Changing whether clickable is announced has nothing to do
with how you move through links nor what you hear when you encounter a link.
But if you just turn clickable off, there are times when you won't hear
clickable when you need to activate a clickable object to do something.
Sometimes, you activate a clickable object to play audio. sometimes, to
bring up help information, sometimes for other reasons. It isn't a good
idea to have it off all the time.

hi quentin. did you try it with openoffice? i think that issue became
present in recent versions of libreoffice, not previous versions.
I am not sure about the exact version number, but i think that it
should be in libreoffice 5.0 or newer.

Hi Jim,

NVDA has a voice settings option called "capital pitch change percentage".
The idea being that as you are typing or reading letter by letter, capital
letters are read in a higher (or lower) pitch to distinguish them. There
are several other options for distinguishing capitals, being to beep or to
read "cap", all of which can be set independently of each other.

The issue is that when using either OneCore or SAPI voices, the capital
pitch change option is ignored UNLESS say cap is also checked - and then it
does both.

Using eSpeak, the options all work as they should (capitals are indicated
by pitch change even without say cap checked). I'm not sure about other
synthesizers.

If change in pitch isn't audible unless some other indication is on, that
is a bug and evidently is now being looked into.

I agree that it's when I'm proof reading that I find the beep for
capitals
helpful. I have a configuration profile for editing documents before I
submit them anywhere, in which I have the punctuation level set to all,
and
slow the speed down a little, and it would be helpful to have the beep
for
a capital sounding as I move through the document line by line, rather
than
having to navigate to the specific place where there should be a capital
letter so I can hear the beep as I move by character.

I don't believe the change in pitch for capitals is audible at all unless
the Say Cap for Capitals seting is on. Even with it set to 100, I don't
hear any change in pitch with Microsoft Zira voice without that audible
Cap
announcement and, for me, that's more of a distraction than it's worth
when
I'm editing.
