The beta is generally stable.  It is at the stage where mainly bugs are being found. There is no older production version to test this with.  This is a feature in the soon to be realeased production version.  There is no reason to believe that this is an NVDA problem.

I don't know anything about the web site you are asking about.  If those voices are offered anywhere for free, it's not legal and you won't get help with illegal acquisitions on the list because the list has a policy against supporting illegal software.  If the official support page says something must be paid for, any free offer is almost certain to not be legal.

This is not difficult to do but there are quite a few steps to doing it and the buttons you want are quite a long way down the settings pages, so be prepared to do a lot of tabbing.

  1. Open the Edge browser
  2. Press alt+x
  3. Press up arrow once and you should land on ‘Settings’, press enter
  4. Press tab repeatedly until you find ‘View Advanced Settings’ button, then press enter
  5. Press tab repeatedly until you find ‘Change search Engine’ button, then press enter
  6. Use tab key to find list of available engines, then use up/down arrows to navigate list
  7. Select the engine you want, press tab once and press enter on the ‘set as default’ button
  8. Press tab and find the ‘Back’ button then press enter
  9. Use tab and  find the ‘Back’ button on the next screenand press enter
  10. You should now be back on the ‘View Advanced Settings’ button, press escape button (top left of your keyboard)
  11. You should now be on the ‘Settings and More’ button, press tab and you will return to the web page you were viewing before you edited Settings

Cheers

Hi Anthony.

1: press windows key and r for the run dialogue

2: Type shell:appsfolder and hit enter

3: When the list of programs pops up use first letter navigation letter m until you hear Microsoft edge.

4: Hit the context menu key or shift f 10.

5: Arrow until you find create shortcut and hit enter.

6: You will be told that the shortcut can not be created here and it will ask you if you want to place it on the desktop instead.

7: Tab to the yes button and hit enter.

And there you go.

Note: you can name the newly created icon anything you want.

Unable to switch to oneCore synthesizer.

Hi.
Sorry if this has been discussed before.
I am using nvda master on a windows 10 machine running the latest creator update.

When I try to switch to the oneCore synthesizer, I get the following message.

Could not load the oneCore synthesizer.
I find this very strange since narrator speaks using this particular synth so I know it is in fact installed.
So what else can I do to make it work with nvda?
Thanks
Nikos

I'm not saying it's an NVDA problem, it may be something to do with the interaction between the information exposed by Outlook and how NVDA obtains it whichh causes it. I doubt MS would do anything to solve it, so I just avoid using that keystroke.

Hi everyone,

I am running Outlook 2016 on Windows 10 with the latest update of NVDA.

Over the past month, I have found that outlook stops and runs out of time almost every time (four times a day) that I check my emails. I notice the problem particularly when I try to swap between folders. This generates the message that Outlook has stopped working and will close. Today, I downloaded the newest update of NVDA and yet the problem is still persisting.

I unloaded NVDA and brought up JAWS. With JAWS running I am able to swap between folders without any delay so I am convinced that NDA is causing the problem.

Before loading JAWS, I had a very full outlook .pst file and reduced that from 1.2g to 200mb. I have no addins so that can't be the cause.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there a known solution?

I would really value a response as I much prefer to use NVDA rather than JAWS!

All the best,

I use Quincy, but then I would since I made it in the first place.
On sounds, did I nott see an add on that allowed other sounds on the ad on

site. I believe eventually the idea is to make this type of option part of

nvda. At the moment its awkward as on a standard install, the update
overwrites th sound files in nvda. but there is noting stopping you form
fiddling with them on the current install. they are in a folder called waves

in the main nvda folder in program fiiles (x86)
