Mail that has no text version doesn't cause a problem with webmail interfaces.  If you don't want to read mail as HTMal using a weeb interface and the web interface doesn't offer a text setting, turn off script support in your browser or use something like a portable version of NVDA with script support off specifically for that site and any other sites you don't want scripts to run in.  Use whatever browsers you use now when you do want script support.

Actually one big problem today is that some emails are going out with no
text version and in some instances this can make cutting and pasting content
very hard to format. I do this a lot for talking newspaper scripts to read
each week. another reason why I never use on line email. You can set up the
old outlook Express to only see the text version or go back and forth, very
handy indeed for my situation.

To my knowledge, and after doing some web research, it is not possible to
make the Gmail web interface do forced conversions to plain text when a
message has been sent in HTML format. This actually makes sense since so
much actual information is often contained in HTML elements like
click-through links that are part of an image and similar.

You can choose to compose in plain text, but even that has become more
difficult to set up since HTML formatted messages have become the de facto
standard.

This has nothing to do with unregistered dll files.  It is the problem that has been mentioned by Joseph Lee recently and the problem is that if you unload and then run NVDA while firefox, or I believe any other program that uses browse mode is opened, browse mode won't work.  You must close and rerun the program such as a browser, to have it function properly again.  this bug is known to the developers.

uninstalling a program that de registered loads of dll files that windows
uses for  accessability.

I think if this is yet another one of these  people folk, we need to have
this fix signposted widely all the time as it seems its becoming a common
issue with Windows even brand new computers seem to have it.

Running NVDA 2017-3 on a win 10 64 bit machine.

This issue doesn't seem to be browser specific as I have had the issue with both IE and Google Chrome.  Sometimes NVDA doesn't report a link.  With this issue I have had the problem of hitting the enter key on a line of text on a web page causing NVDA from responding and locking the computer.  In some cases you can wait it out and speech returns and on other cases the only way to fix the issue is a hard reboot.  Can happen on any web page if you happen to hit enter on a non control line on the page.

That isn't a new problem.  It has been in existence for quite some time.  I don't know how far bac it goes.  Browse mode doesn't work properly, if at all.  Tab works whether you are in browse mode or not.  Restart Firefox to solve the problem.

I'm not sure what you are saying.  My first comment was a criticism of the attitude that everyone should stop using XP when, my point is, some people can't.  I also said that the developers have supported XP for so long because they recognize that enough users can't upgrade from XP that they wanted to continue support.  They have supported XP far longer than other screen-readers.  They are stopping support because continued support is impractical because of ongoing technical changes in Windows 10.

Its not as if they have left XP users with a lame version after all. its well good enough to be used daily. I think the only way this person is going to get what they want is to find soem programmers willing to do the required work, that would depend on a huge number of nvda users wanting the updates to continue. it is after all open source but it would need to be a completely different branch of the code, also hanging on to the legacy tools to build it as well.

No. This is NVDA, not NVDA Remote.

Hi Kavein,

Firstly thank you for your interest in helping out!

NVDA uses Braille tables from Liblouis: http://liblouis.org/

Information on creating new tables is available from:
http://liblouis.org/documentation/liblouis.html

While NVDA isn't always on the latest build of Liblous, we are endeavouring
to keep it more up to date than it has been previously.

Knowing we have users with an interest in a particular language, as and
when you get Malay added and in a new LibLouis version, let me know (either
on here or write to info@nvaccess.org) and I'll make a special effort to
get us on the same version as soon as possible for you.

Kind regards

Quentin.

hi friends,
I am a braille display user from malaysia and I find it frustrating to
see that my language braille code is not currently alive. How to make
a braile table for a particular language and have it supported and
declared universal?

thanks
