Once the Add-on is installed along with NVDA, you can select either

Synthesizer dialog and then select the preferred language in the NVDA
Voice dialog.

Yeah, only this doesn't work for vocalizer voices.  It works just fine
for eloquence voice (which btw, I can't stand), but apparently, for
vocalizer voices, you need to go to another page (not linked to
anywhere on the NVDA plugins page), and download the voices you want
to use.  This is pretty poor page design, especially since there is no
mention anywhere on the page that voices need to be downloaded.

But, just for reference, downloading the voices I wanted didn't change
my circle of errors, I'm still getting the thanks for using, and
telling me that pressing ok will start the install process, (which btw
doesn't).  Installing the samantha voice separately also doesn't solve
my problem, I can select vocolizer in the code factory menu, but when
going to synthesizer and selecting vocalizer is how I get into that
nice endless error circle, so there is definitely still work that
needs done on these voices.  I'd be demanding my money back with no
doubt if I'd had this experience after paying for these things.  The
seven day trial is nice, but it isn't of any use to me, because
nothing here is working, so I'm just going to write it all off as a
bad idea and go back to being content with my espeak ivan 3 voice.

Hello,

Regarding bhavyashaa's comment dated on 2 Mar below, I agree totally. If NVDA just got rid of the arrow keys being announced, it would be OK to hear the other command keys. I am a trainer, and for new users, it is important for them to hear the other keys, even the most basic ones like enter, escape and alt tab. But having to listen to the arrow keys constantly really gets in the way. If this simple fix could be made in the next version of NVDA, it would really help, especially for new users and those who train them.

A compromise solution:
1 - Considere Enter, and accents like accut accent, grave accent, tilde and carete, as a character;
2 - Separate arrows from command keys.
That way will have three group of keys;
1 - Typeable characters including Enter and accents;
2 - Arrow keys;
3 - All other keys;

bhavyashah commented on 2 Mar
Hi,
Are there any users who would like to retain announcement of arrow keys via the Speak command keys option? If absolutely none, removing arrow keys as a whole from being reported under all settings should be considered, because it is unlikely and unproductive for anyone to enable arrow keys while working, or even creating tutorial content for beginners, or in any scenario I can currently visualize.
Also, adding only Enter to the characters spoken even with the afore mentioned setting off would be of significant help to beginners, as many NVDA users and trainers have reported in the past, and shouldn't have any counter-productive consequences in the UX of other users.
However, Enter in comjunction with other keys, in the form of key commands, shouldn't be verbalized.
The above two cases have been pretty much unanimously agreed as expressed in several comments and through various tickets in the past, and thus I have specifically requested their implementation.
With the arrow keys eliminated and the Enter key spoken, we may have a clearer picture of the user demand going forward.
Thanks.

Do we need some more issues open to this question?
If you see, my proposal and bhavyashah proposal are identical, with the inclusion of accents in the typeable characters, as they really are.

Clipspeak will read the following commands:

CTRL+Z: Undo
CTRL+Y: Redo
CTRL+X: Cut
CTRL+C: Copy
CTRL+V: Paste

Is that what you are after?
https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/clipspeak.en.html

The idea of a more customisable "speak command keys" comes up from time to
time, but the problem is everyone wants different things. My idea would
probably be to have a simple set of options, say checkboxes for groups of
keys like:
- function keys
- arrow keys
- modifier keys

etc.

If anyone has a really clear and widely useful variant on that they'd really
like to see, do feel free to write it up on GitHub:

It's extremely easy to navigate, but the facebook mobile page doesn't have everything the main facebook page has, or sometimes it does, but it's burried somewhere, and good luck finding it. It's nearly impossible to do everything I want to do when using the mobile version of the page, so I gave it up for useless years ago.  Admittedly, the regular page is a hassle, and sometimes it's slow as all get out, but it works, and in the long run that's all that matters.

Of course, I use face book as little as possible, so your mileage may vary.

Re: Problems with IE - nothing speaks

Gene

I have no idea.  It doesn't sound as though deleting the file should cause the proboem but if it happened immediately after and you hadn't done anything else, then in some way, it may have.  If you want to, you can run NVDA from the installer and test it with your browser.  That should tell you if reinstalling it will solve the problem.

If you don't want to lose settings in NVDA, you could use the currently installed version to make a portable copy with all your current settings preserved, and then you could run the portable copy and try installing from that copy after you remove the currently installed file.  I don't know if the problem will be incorporated into the portable and installed versions and other list members probably know how to save your settings in a clean installation but that's one suggestion.

Never delete files when you don't know what they do.  Back them up and then delete them from their original location, making sure you know, making a note if necessary, what folder it is in.  It sounds to me as though this file is a part of NVDA.  You may have to reinstall NVDA to get the file gback.

Oh boy, I hear nothing with NVDA+spacebar.

Recently I was seeing if i could create an app module for IE and certain websites so I had an iexplorer.py file in the app module folder. But i deleted that and the .pyo file when i noticed issues.

OK Sarah, thanks.  Am I stupid!  I didn't know that this machine still had NVDA version 2011.1.  On my newer machine, I think I can figure it out.

Thank you for your patience.

No go to manage add ons. I don't have my windows machine running right now, but I elieve it is under tools. If not go to the prefs section. Someone give me a hand here?

Take care.

Thanks Sarah, I must be pretty dense; the closest thing I can find to "add ons" is reload plug-ins under "tools".  Where should I be looking? Thank you.

Hello. Go to the nvda add ons section, click install new add on, browse to the file and then follow the prompts if any.

hope that helps a bit.

Blessings and happy Friday

Hi all,
I've downloaded
weather_plus4.5.nvda-addon
and now I don't know what to do with it.  It doesn't seem to be an archive (.zip, .rar) or an executable (.exe or .com)  It has no extention to tell me what program will open it.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Hi

I do have the whole package of voices for speech platform if you are interested along with the run time tingy to get those voices working.

I just looked on my windows 10 creators update machine and there under the synth section is one for speech platform so i have it installed.

I only have the one voice installed called sarah but i could install more if i can see it.

if you are interested i can drop box them.

They are the complete set so will have other languages as well apart from english.

in NVDA and I can see they're not addon packages, so...
