Re: the sam driver

Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>

When you say the Sam driver are you referring to the free Dolphin synth Access Manager that I've seen an add on somewhere to use in nvda?
I have not used this method of late to use Dolphin derived voices because, to be honest most of the ones available that way are digital type voices like digital Dave and not as good as Espeak in my opinion. It certainly does not let you use any third party voices they use without buying them!

However is Sam means something else, then I don't know!

Are you personally running your own mail server, or do you send mail through
your ISP's server?

If you're running your own mail server, is it on a static address with correct

550 means "fatal error - mail could not be delivered"

The "8.4 points" is most likely an anti-spam filter result (quite
possibly from SpamAssassin).

Basically this combination means that the mail server refused to deliver
your email to the list because it looked like spam, according to whatever
tests are done by that server.

Re: Microsoft Speech Platform

Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>

Well they are extremely easy to install, so you can listen to them quicker that way I'd suggest. For me they are OK for reading text but not much good to navigate menus etc, as they tend to lag a little too much and fast speeds makes them sound chopped up in my ears. They are not meant for the menu sort of use though.
Of course being Microsoft, expect lots of forced abbreviation extension and odd ways of saying things, For example I had to put my first name in with a by to make it say it correctly.

Hi

The package is in a zip format it is about 300 meg or so for the whole package.  There is a run time file you need to click on and after that it is the tts voices need to be installed.

The link to the drop boxs account is https://www.dropbox.com/s/zthyyh9kef7repx/Speech%20Platform%2011%20engine%20and%20voices.zip?dl=0

I also have the speech hub package but the add on needs to be installed after speech hub has been installed.

the add on can be found under the following section in windows c: drive then program files x86 then speech hub then nvda add on then just do the usual to install it the add on i mean.

the drop box link is https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzgos2mu38ss3i1/SpeechHubInstall.exe?dl=0

Hi

I do have the whole package of voices for speech platform if you are interested along with the run time tingy to get those voices working.

I just looked on my windows 10 creators update machine and there under the synth section is one for speech platform so i have it installed.

I only have the one voice installed called sarah but i could install more if i can see it.

if you are interested i can drop box them.

They are the complete set so will have other languages as well apart from english.

Re: vocalizer voices (got it partly figured out)

Gene! I looked at the voices page. Yes confirmed! Eloquence is one you pay for.  There are other voices I’m willing to try. I’ve used  Eloquence with Jaws.  If I want it I’ll pay for it.  if the list member who kept asking about it. If he does not want to pay for it. then he should go back to using a screan reader that has it there.

The new Eloquence is not free.  The Jeff Dreams Eloquence is not legal.  Any Eloquence you don't have to pay for is illegal.  I'm sorry, you may not have intentionally violated list rules this time and I don't want to be unfair but given your irratic compliance with list rules and frequent violation of them, I will moderate you.  That doesn't mean your messages won't reach the list.  It means that I or the list owner will have to approve your messages before they reach the list.  You may send any message you like but only questions you haven't asked repeatedly will be approved and comments you haven't repeatedly made will also be approved.  the same questions and comments you have repeatedly made in thread after thread will not be approved.  Also, only messages discussing legal content will be approved.

I don't know if you don't read messages carefully, don't understand them, or skip messages, but Eloquence has been discussed here many times recently and it has been made very clear that the only legal Eloquence is the Eloquence you pay for.  I told you in my last message to look at the web page NVDA provides with information about voices.  If you read the information about Eloquence, it will be clear that you pay for it.  You said you don't want to pay.

Gene
