Please don’t bottom post.  Post at the top of the messages.  If you bottom post, people won’t see your reply.  They won’t wade through five or more messages to finally find yours and many people think you mistakenly sent a blank message.

If you need help in how to top post, ask here.

As I stated in an email a few weeks ago when this person started
posting on the list, he will continue posting nonsensical messages,
off topic messages, and violate list rules until he is removed. He
apparently doesn't pay much attentionn to messages in reply to his

Hello all,

A friend of mine has recently switched from Outlook to Thunderbird, and has an issue I don't know how to solve.

Thunderbird has been set as default, but when he tried to attach a file to an email from within Word, he gets an error message that says it is impossible to do so.
Even from LibreOffice he doesn't manage to attach files to emails.

He has Office 2007, LibreOffice 5.2, and NVDA 2017.3 under Windows7.

I'm at a loss, because it works for me in Windows 10, Versione 1067.

The difference, apart from the OS version, is that I don't have office, so it works in LIbreOffice.

Could it be that, in spite of having Thunderbird set as dafault, Word or Writer look for Outlook, can't find it, and give an error?

Hope this is clear. I'm not so good at explaining technical issues...
Ciao, and thanks in advance!

Hi,

Instead of looking for the file from TB and tabbing to the file how about using the context menu.

1. Highlight the file to be attached

2. Press the context menu

3. Choose send to mail recipient

and press enter

4. Says e-mailing and the file name attachment

5. Enter the address in the To field

6. Tab to the message tab and write your message

7. Press control and enter to send the message.

This is much easier and informs you that the file you wish to attached is shown as a file instead of a graphic.

4.

Yep. I have run that version and it's sad the developers does not want to take the time to make the app run as a service under mac os as well otherwise I'd use it. Oh well. I have other ways that are better anyway, but very similar.

Hi,
As the owner of the NVDA add-ons list, I'm considering enacting address
ban if I hear reports of the moderated person jumping over to the
add-ons list to vent frustrations.
Cheers,
Joseph

As I stated in an email a few weeks ago when this person started posting
on the list, he will continue posting nonsensical messages, off topic
messages, and violate list rules until he is removed. He apparently
doesn't pay much attentionn to messages in reply to his questions and
will continue repeating things over and over until stopped. Moderation
is the least of possible solutions to this situation.

Good luck Nimer and Gene!

I doubt it is intentional rudeness. I would say that people should
simply not comment on any post by Mr. Chikodinaka Nickarandidum
Oguledo unless he asks a new and useful question. Repetitive
questions, the same question four times in a month or even twice in
a month or six months, should simply be ignored.

It is not useful to have a debate on list about Chikodinaka
Nickarandidum Oguledo or his posts. If such unproductive debates
continue, I shall lock all threads where such debates begin.

If Mr. Chikodinaka Nickarandidum Oguledo is too outrageous, I shall
moderate him. Moderation means that I shall see every post from him
and have to approve each post before it reaches the list. If I do
that, I shall simply not approve repetitive questions nor questions
that in any way, promote sites where illegal activity occurs. .

I'm explaining all this because Mr. Chikodinaka Nickarandidum
Oguledo sent a post yesterday in which he seemed to indicate that he
didn't know what being moderated means and because there may be
other list members who don't know.

I am not the list owner and if he wishes to deal with this matter
differently, that is what he will do as list owner. I've stated
what I will do unless the owner wishes something different to be
done.

Also, on further consideration, I've changed my mind about how long
moderation will last. It will last at least two months and whether
it is lifted will depend on the kinds of posts Mr. Chikodinaka
Nickarandidum Oguledo sends for approval.

Hello all,

There is a new version of BTsync out, called Resilio Sync. Not sure
about mac/linux versions, but on windows anyways it is accessible,
providing that during install you choose to install it as a service.
Folders from BTSync are backwards compatible for the most part providing
you have the original key of course.

So do I. I always save a file, and then send it from "Attach File" in the "File" menu (Alt+f).

I feel I have better control on what I'm doing that way.

Subject: [nvda] Thunderbird and Word - A question for a friend

Ollie

Re: replying to individuals rather than the entire list

Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>

Exactly but it does in my clunky old Outlook Express. I'm not sure what is going on in Thunderbird, but some things to look at are what the mailto links do in that client.
Most Microsoft clients set them appropriately, but because Tbird does not use the Internet Explorer or Edge code to display html it can be screwed up. I imagine its using Gecko instead.
If you have firefox set then it really should work if email links in Firefox work, but I have no other ideas, I'm afraid other then manual alterations in the bit of windows which decided what programs open on certain events.

Hey Brian. This doesn't work in Thunderbird. I just hit enter on your
said link and nada.

It's a simple matter to find it either using the screen reader list of

I think the original poster was talking generally not about just this particular list. I've come across lists where such an obvious thing is not put into the email.
That was why I included a bit of header as even on those groups its really not that hard to find th senders address at all.

Anyway, sometimes the link on here can end up with a bounce, Never did quite understand how that happened myself.

Hi,

Instead of looking for the file from TB and tabbing to the file how about using the context menu.

1. Highlight the file to be attached

2. Press the context menu

3. Choose send to mail recipient

and press enter

4. Says e-mailing and the file name attachment

5. Enter the address in the To field

6. Tab to the message tab and write your message

7. Press control and enter to send the message.

This is much easier and informs you that the file you wish to attached is shown as a file instead of a graphic.

4.

I use MicroFocus Reflection terminal emulator to access a Vista database. It is a roll & scroll type program. Does anyone have a solution for hearing the new text as it rolls onto the screen? And the characters do not speak as I type. I have created a keystroke that will speak the data that is on the screen. But i would like to hear the characters as I type and new information that rolls onto screen in real time. Any events or API's i can try to tap into to get this going? Does anyone use NVDA with any other terminal emulator and have ideas? I have dynamic context turned on.

Yes you can of course if they have a footer or if you enable the headers display then you can.
In my view there should be an option in all clients which when you hit reply it gives you two options this is sort of done in Usenet in Outlook express and also live mail, and I think Outlook as well.
