The issues are much the same as why nvda had to drop them. they need to make the best code and that means using the core of windows that the tools they build the software with uses, normally those in currently supported versions of windows. One of the basic problems in my view is that even when used, most people making pdfs never tag them for reading order when it changes its number of columns or reorders pages to print order.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Others admit to me that they just use a printer driver that makes pdfs from the printer output, and hence they have no control at all. I do use the pdf reader from webbie, but that only allows text content to be read assuming everything is the same all through the file. PDFs are a known bad practice aspect here in the UK and I notice that were organisations are clued in they normally make word 97 doc versions available as well, though even those if the author uses text boxes and hideously large tables can be awful to read for us. At least that's what I ended up doing. Plus, to make things worse, Windows onboard sound often defaults to 48000 hz for playback and recording, and that results in pops and crackles for most sounds, because they're expecting 44100 hz. Now to go looking for a portable sound card that also connects to the phone. I don't know why manufacturers think I want my music screwed with. If I want all this compression and stuff I can find an FM radio easily enough.

In case of Microsoft Active Accessibility or IAccessible, it usually refers to exposing correct info about a control for screen readers and raising appropriate events. By default, NVDA will not automatically announce when something happens on screen unless NVDA is told to keep an eye on events that programs raise. Regarding the program in question: I advise contacting NV Access and see if they can take a look at it for a fee, or if a free version or a demo can be downloaded, let one of us take a look at it and provide recommendations (unfortunately, due to various commitments, I won't be able to do that at this time). I have a feeling both of these items are ports over from the cloud services often encountered in smart phones, certainly I believe the seeing AI app available in the US uses the read text part that you describe here. You can turn off dts with sighted help but I'd honestly wouldn't turn it off, the speech is not to bad but the sound sort of sucks without dts I actually like dts better than sps premium or the waves max on del that really sucks, dts is not to bad.
