Hello list,

Morne van der Merwe

Let me introduce myself. My name is Morné and I live in South Africa.  I’m only started using NVDA last night, so I am quite new to the world of NVDA.I especially like the fact that I can read Afrikaans text with nvda. I do have a question concerning Skype. Is nvda fine with skype? Are there also scripts available for nvda?

Thanks in advance. I’m looking forward to your reply.

Regards

Morne

Is there a different URL for the site or does another site exist that I can access to study and upgrade my skills with NVDA?

Thank you very much.

Lots of people say they have the firefox problem and steps are underway to fix it. if you go away from firefox and then come back does this fix the problem?
Sometimes Firefox's focus and nvdas way of obtaining it can be a bit flaky, especially on the 64 bit version of ff57.

As for the freezes, I've noticed this on windows 7, and I suspect its a max out of the processor core nvda is using. Being a dynamic issue its hard to pin it down.

I have a few questions related to NVDA's responsiveness:

Sometimes, particularly when I'm on a webpage, NVDA just freezes for several seconds. I have no idea why, and it doesn't seem to be happening with JAWS.

Likewise, NVDA will randomly jump focus from the window I'm in and just say "pane"; I then have to close that window to get back to where I was.

Finally, if I have a page open in Firefox and unload NVDA, once I reload NVDA I can no longer read the page; it is as if NVDA only stays in focus mode.

Using NVDA 2017.3 on Windows 10.

Hi.

Well never thought this would be me saying I am done but I am done.

Bt sync suddenly started crashing I did everything settings clear, system restore, etc, etc, etc, I added all my folders in again, and it went and started syncing but less than 2 minutes afterwards the client crashed with the standard stopped working message.

I did try resilio but I am either doing it wrong or something because while I was able with another reader able to get it to show a bit of its web ui where I could do something with it even when I added a folder it asked for confirmation.

When I put the service in and set it as system, thinking that would work, the thing just didn'

't seem to notice, that is I got it running but it just wouldn't display any web ui and there was no icon to do that.

Someone mentioned there was a way on here to get it to run with a command line and I may do that.

I have looked at synkthing and it looked good if only I knew how to opperate it fully I have all the keys for my folders but to be honest at this point, I have half the mind to say well thats me and bt sync.

There is 1 folder I can get updates to manually via a dropbox share but thats about it.

I have an old bt sync clicker sadly no longer about and I could use that I guess but to be honest, I'm just about out of options.

In the end if btsync doesn't I will use the access I have via dropbox for the folder that I have audio described tv stuff on but to be honest that may be that.

I can't waste all day on bt sync 1 and if there is a limit I have obviously reached it, I have a 30gb folder of chips 12gb of tv stuff a couple smaller folders of 1-2gb each and a big 4gb phone sound folder, I have about 50gb of stuff.

Is there some sort of accessible bt sync client that can take keys or that one can use, To be honest I'd like something that you could use like bt sync 1x but that had an explorer interface I don't need that much I just want to sync 6 large folders, if I can make more with keys or whatever then sure go ahead but I am done otherwise.

Dear NVDA Group,

I tried to access the website where NVDA tutorials exist but was unsuccessful.

I went to www.accessibilitycentral.net. I got a message that said Firefox is unable to establish a connection with www.accessibilitycentral.net.

Is there a different URL for the site or does another site exist that I can access to study and upgrade my skills with NVDA?

Thank you very much.

I have now removed the bt sync addon from nvda to as its not needed now.

Do I enter the folder secret from bt sync in the id box or do I enter the id in the id box,  after that where do I enter the key, right now the id box has the key, the label box has the name of the folder, and the folder location is the folder's location.

It says the folders are not shared, these are not my folders, how to convert the bt syncs to well syncthing secrets, am I doing something wrong?

Also is there a way to hide the  console window and is there a way to have it open in ie without changing my default brouser, does syncthing have a command line interface.

Does it have an explorer front end or something, I only ask because while the interface is fine I'd really like to see what else I can do with it.

What syncthing do I download, firefox says with noscript things are not
allowd, but the window never appears even though I have permitted it all.

Do you use a gui or something I used synctracer but that just didn't
work to well, should I use a frontend or what I can't get the syncthing
thing to show up without doodling.

Well in order to use sync thing you have to have a key for your folder and also a computer id. If you go to actions just click show id than add the folder. Just to let you know I am using sync thing and it is working very very well for me. Let us know how you do and good luck.

Subject: [nvda] bt sync and me are officially enemies

Hi.

Well never thought this would be me saying I am done but I am done.

Bt sync suddenly started crashing I did everything settings clear,
system restore, etc, etc, etc, I added all my folders in again, and it
went and started syncing but less than 2 minutes afterwards the client
crashed with the standard stopped working message.

I did try resilio but I am either doing it wrong or something because
while I was able with another reader able to get it to show a bit of its
web ui where I could do something with it even when I added a folder it
asked for confirmation.

When I put the service in and set it as system, thinking that would
work, the thing just didn'

't seem to notice, that is I got it running but it just wouldn't display
any web ui and there was no icon to do that.

Someone mentioned there was a way on here to get it to run with a
command line and I may do that.

I have looked at synkthing and it looked good if only I knew how to
opperate it fully I have all the keys for my folders but to be honest at
this point, I have half the mind to say well thats me and bt sync.

There is 1 folder I can get updates to manually via a dropbox share but
thats about it.

I have an old bt sync clicker sadly no longer about and I could use that
I guess but to be honest, I'm just about out of options.

In the end if btsync doesn't I will use the access I have via dropbox
for the folder that I have audio described tv stuff on but to be honest
that may be that.

I can't waste all day on bt sync 1 and if there is a limit I have
obviously reached it, I have a 30gb folder of chips 12gb of tv stuff a
couple smaller folders of 1-2gb each and a big 4gb phone sound folder, I
have about 50gb of stuff.

Is there some sort of accessible bt sync client that can take keys or
that one can use, To be honest I'd like something that you could use
like bt sync 1x but that had an explorer interface I don't need that
much I just want to sync 6 large folders, if I can make more with keys
or whatever then sure go ahead but I am done otherwise.
