Re: NVDA Not Working on Web Sites

Gene

This has been discussed either here or on another list I follow.  It is likely that, for some reason one or more dll files have become unregistered.  if your system restore is on and working and you have recent restore points, you may want to try restoring the system to a time before the problem started.  But before trying that, there have been instructions issued on registering the file or files.

Here is a discussion that may or may not solve your problem but in the course of the discussion registering certain files is discussed.

I have not uninstalled anything in months.  this inability to read any web pages with NVDA suddenly began this morning upon bootup.  It was not present late last night when I shutdown.  This is truly baffling and very frustrating.

I have found no way to fix this issue and not even ms knows what to do.

ideas?

Is this easier/better than Open Broadcasting SOftware?
Main issue I've with OBS is that sometimes the window isn't screen captured fully or at all, so I get a partial browser window or a black screen with only NVDA TTS.

I just tried wordpress and link you provided, but did not find an embedded object. The contentEditable worked fine in Chrome in Wordpress.
Could you provide steps to reproduce? Thanks!

You can't do that unfortunately. Since the say all profile is a
manually activated profile and not app specific, no matter which app
you are in the one say all profile will rule over the app.

Anna is too clipped and its American so most things sound better. One issue
I have in windows 7 is that I have Daniel and Serena which are both sapi 5
and work well with nvda, but when I go to change the default computer voice
in windows, only anna shows up in the list which is rather annoying if you
need to use naarrator at any time.

Since I know there's at least one Windows 10 user that's commented here (and I think these might be available on Windows 8.1, too) you should definitely give the SAPI 5 synthesizer with either of the two voices included with Windows: Zira (female) or David (male).

These are by far and away the most natural sounding voices I've heard in my years working with screen readers. If you're a fast typist they don't keep up with you on a letter-by-letter basis, if that's important.

To be honest, demontools is full of malware.
Never fear, I know tools like poweriso could do this for you.
I also think that windows has some recovery centre where you can get your coppy of windows etc.
Right now actually as long as you don't mind fudging your downgrade install, you can use the media creation tool and get the iso created that way.
Then all you need to do is store the isos somewhere, either on your cloud or on a couple dvds or something or something.
