Hello everyone,

I would like to welcome all of you to the new moderator who will step into Joseph's hard-to-fill shoes. Many of you know this individual, as he posts frequently with thoughtful, well-researched content. He has done this for a long time now.

Please welcome Gene to the moderation team. He will work with Joseph closely until the end of May to make sure that he has all of the information he needs to step into the position. Gene and I will work closely to continue to make sure that this list runs without problems. We will, of course, miss Joseph as he embarks on a new journey.

If you have any questions, concerns, problems or suggestions, please let the moderation team know at nvda+owner@groups.io

I am not yet acting as a moderator but at the outset, I want to make what I consider an important point.

When I am writing as a list member and not sending moderation messages, I want and hope that list members will treat me as they always have.  That is, list members may feel as free as before to comment or disagree with me when I write as a member.  When I write as a moderator, then the rules apply for dealing with moderation matters but I see the two as completely separate.  I have the impression that on many lists, moderators may be treated differently even when they are participating as list members and I want to assure the list that I don't want that to be the case with me.

I am looking forward to working with Nimer to keep the list running smoothly and to help the list meet the needs and concerns of NVDA users.  I look forward to serving the list.

This has been discussed either here or on another list I follow. It is likely that, for some reason one or more dll files have become unregistered. if your system restore is on and working and you have recent restore points, you may want to try restoring the system to a time before the problem started. But before trying that, there have been instructions issued on registering the file or files.

Here is a discussion that may or may not solve your problem but in the course of the discussion registering certain files is discussed.

I have not uninstalled anything in months. this inability to read any web pages with NVDA suddenly began this morning upon bootup. It was not present late last night when I shutdown. This is truly baffling and very frustrating.Â

   Hello:
Whenever a program is uninstalled there is always the risk of unregistering .dll's.
MS Office has a number of accessibility related .dll's which when uninstalled will cause NVDA a lot of issues. That's why there should always be a restore point created and a image backup made of the drive.
   hope this helps?

On another system it did the same thing but when I loaded office 2013 it fixed the issue so removing office must have done something.
The system is due for a full workout in august and strip down as its full of old programs and so in august I plan to strip it down and this will include a full reformat and refresh of the os.
I have found no way to fix this issue and not even ms knows what to do.

look normal and can be navigated normally with the mouse. It appears as
if some keyboard change has taken place interfering with NVDA's
functioning, but I cannot figure this one out. I am using the current
version of NVDA and Windows 10. This occurs both in Firefox and IE. Any
ideas?

I've just used it to record screencast demo's of some forms of web-page interaction, or to sort of help some sighted guys understand what am talking about, but, seemed to record video capture of whole screen, including PC's audio output, etc.

But, haven't tried anything like live streaming using it, if that's relevant.
