Is the libera office spreadsheet readable with NVDA? I tried it with another screen reader and could not read it at all. I could read the Open Office spreadsheet but do have some problems with the word prrocessor and the other screen reader.

I was trying to figure out why after i go to general settings under where you can adjust voice settings what not. But when i go under the general settings and make my adjustments. It's not saving my settings when hitting ok. As a matter and fact when i hit ok it doesnt clsoe the window, so soon as i hit escape it closes it and goes back to the previous settings before i made changes. Not sure why hitting enter on the ok button doesnt do anything.

@Josh, * Both LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice offer good no-cost open source assistive technology tool support on Windows having implemented the IAccessible2 API. LibreOffice-- http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ (5.1.2 build released 2016-04-01 in either 32-bit or 64-bit, as opposed to the 5.0.5 build released 2016-02-08) Apache OpenOffice -- http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html (4.1.2 build released 2015-10-30) The Apache project limps along, but the 4.1.2 build should suffice for use with NVDA releases, but I would choose a LibreOffice build as its development model offers more resources for addressing any functional issues. If you just want to be able to view MS Office files, then just get the free Word Viewer. It will read anything Office can create, it just won't let you create or edit an existing file.

hi
any chance that the blindfold games for ios will be ported to windows7 8 or windows10 to work with NVDA? I cannot justify to myself spending $200 or so on an ipod or ipad just to play a few games when such games could be ported to my chosen platform already. thanks josh -- sent from Mozilla Thunderbird email client

Hi
I have had my hands full for a few days. The portable nvda doesn't read the tree view in device manager on windows 7 x64. Here is a work around: create a desktop short cut for c:\nvda\nvda.exe go to properties advanced and check the box run as administrator u a c keeps coming up but do alt + y and nvda starts. The tree view in device manager is now accessible using nvda portable. Pete

Ok, like said, just used it for simple recording, and it seemed to be just using system's audio output.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Suppose there might be a keystroke to bring up options, etc., but, not sure what that is/would be Alternatively, you could use virtual recorder at same time, since it's specifically an accessible recorder for recording either/both system audio output, along with microphone, or just microphone, etc.? Issue there would be getting audio to match video when you then merged the two later on. Re: Navigating amongst controls on the main screen in Webinaria

Been a little while since last really used it, but, think it just recorded system audio output - you could set system audio to listen to microphone, but, remember main thing was extracting audio from video clip using audacity, tweaking it a bit, and reassigning it to video clip using virtual dub, and then reconverting that video clip to something a lot smaller - ongoing issue with virtualDub is trying to get it to use alternative encoders, but anyway.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Just fired up webInAria, and if read dialogue/window, see it offers setting to record microphone, but, not sure that would then include actual system output as well, and, yes, the interface isn't perfect, but, like said, like that it offered global hotkeys to start, pause and stop recording. Issue in reading the font style of the word
Mr. Wong Chi Wai <cwwong.pro@...>
Hi,
This is a Chinese user. I just recently found out that if I press NVDA +f to read the font style of words in Microsoft Office, it will only tell me the font style of the English word. Even if I have selected the Chinese word, it will also tell me the English font style, not the Chinese font style.
