nvda google chrome and spin button edit boxes in shopping sites
Lisa-Maree
Hello,
I have found that nvda does not read the number in spin button edit boxes in google chrome, such as the ones found on shopping sites when ordering, so that you can't check how many of each item you have ordered. Is there a work around for this, or is this just a glitch with google chrome? Thanks, Lisa-Maree

Yes indeed HP laptops if purchased from one of the big stores nearly always come with clutter. They have lots of junk, erm useful demos of expensive software on them and the first job really is to look at what is on there and remove all the unwanted stuff. However do be careful with demos of Microsoft Offiice as uninstalling these has a history of screwing up the registry for screenreader users.

I don't recall what version of Windows you are running but once you tell us, people can tell you how to see how much processor power is being used by everything on your system in total. If the number is excessively high, we can start looking at the amount of power individual programs use. This problem may be the result of something using a lot of computer resources and whatever it is may be able to be removed or stopped if it isn't needed. There are a rapidly increasing websites that don't work well with Firefox. Any Twitter client won't get registered at all if you use Firefox--it must be done with IE and not sure about Edge. Maybe this is one of them. Try going to the page with another browser and see if it will work. There's another site I use a lot, and when it's time to renew my subscription, it will refuse to work at all with Firefox but works every time with IE. Seems to be related to the interaction you must do with the site such as creating an account or paying for something. You can look at any website and find everything, but you just can't do much interactions with Firefox.

This behavior is random and not easy to catch, but I notice that it occurs, for example, sometimes, if you follow those links on Amazon where it says "People who bought this item also bought" There are back and next links. Those little listings are on the same page as the main item you are looking at, and it just scrolls a list of related items or something; I haven't taken a look at the code to see what is really happening, there. Another example is if an item is clickable and not an actual link. For example, my bank's website has a "Login" clickable item, and not an actual link. If i pres enter or space on that, it will sometimes jump me to that "shellexperiencehost" item, or the system tray. Has anyone else observed this?

Yes indeed that processor is struggling nowadays.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Also not much Ram there so its probably using virtual memory, ie the hard drive, and if that is not an SSD one then its going to be real slow in lots of situations. I had one of those machines some time ago and it was very slow doing some stuff, like in Word, finding and displaying files in explorer and even displaying some web pages. I think its a cut down processor and so causes a bottleneck when several things are trying to get the processor time together.
