Doesn't surprise me. I'm a little bit shocked even for nostalgic reasoning that anyone would want to attempt this, but, I guess each is to his or her own, huh.

Espeak is probably the best open source synthesizer available! Definitely a keeper! Just my preference, I don't care for the "natural" sounding synthesizers. It seems like it takes them way to long to say the same thing espeak can say in a few seconds. Thanks! Pete

As in, change the input channel it listens to? Sorry can't be of more help, but, really just used it for simple little tests. Virtual recorder does, alternatively give you a bit more control over what it will listen to/use as recording source? You'd then still need to patch the audio over the video clip though, using virtual dub, or something similar? Hi,

Considering we do not have official technical support like commercial screen reader manufacturers often do, groups and platforms for NVDA related discussion on various networking utilities is definitely needed. There is a Facebook group for NVDA with over a thousand members named NVDA All The Way, but in my opinion, not really active, often off-topic postings are made, and just not that NVDA enriching. I hope this NVDA Skype group is able to achieve what it aims, and I have joined it too. A Whatsapp group for NVDA is not a bad idea either - the thing is, how many people would be interested in one? How comfortable would most people be in sharing their phone number (inevitably on Whatsapp) while communicating? Technological Whatsapp groups for visually impaired have been very successful in the past, as they continue to proliserate in terms of member base as well as content quality. I co-administer one such group on Whatsapp by the name of Technology for VI and it encompasses people from across the globe, talking about a variety of assistive technologies, all visually impaired (please ask me offlist for further details regarding the same). I see obvious benefits in an e-group, whether Whatsapp based or not, that specially focuses on NVDA, and it might be a great idea. However, Whatsapp is something that requires more careful and considerate administration, which is achievable (from the example and my personal experience in administering Technology for VI) but still a chunk of work. I would appreciate if more NVDA users and this forum's listers could comment in their potential interest in joining an NVDA specific Whatsapp group, or incase anyone else would like to create something on Facebook or elsewhere for the same. Since the lightning talk in NVDACon International 2016 about global online NVDA communities and e-groups takes place very soon, I hope we may have a more elaborate chat there as well about this possibility of expanding NVDA communities across networking platforms. Thanks.

Hello, Very simple! - On the computer that will be remotely controlled: 1. Open de NVDA Menu (NVDA+N) 2. Go to Extra > Remote Access > Connect… 3. First thing to do, set the radiobutton on client 4. Press TAB and set it to Let be controlled this computer (or anything like this) 5. Type in the textbox www.nvdaremote.com 6. In the last textbox type a key, or press the button to generate one for you - On the computer that controls the other pc 1. Do the same steps as above this from 1 to 3 2. Press TAB and set the radiobutton on Control another computer 3. Press tab and type in the textbox www.nvdaremote.com 4. Press tab and type the same key as set in the pc that’ll be controlled! - Press on both computers on OK / Connect You’ll hear a beep and the computers are connected. From the pc that conrols the other machine, press F11 to send your keyboardcommands to the other pc and press F11 again to stop sending the keys.
To disconnect go to the NVDA Menu (Ins+N) > Extra > Remote access > Disconnect You’ll hear some beeps again!
Is that clear for you?

Important (reply offlist please): NVDACon International 2016/Tenth Anniversary Edition: second half, invitation to attend keynote presentation
Ladies and gentlemen,
This is Joseph Lee, the chair of the NVDA tenth anniversary planning committee. I’d like to give you some status report on happenings at NVDACon 2016 and to cordially invite you to join us for the second half of this conference.
So far, the conference attendees had a chance to meet authors of their favorite add-ons, learned how awareness of NVDA makes a difference in workplaces, got a sneak preview of Dictation Bridge and more. We also heard from people such as Sean Randall, Dave Williams and others, as well as to chat with Fernando and mark, the developers of F123 Access, as well as to get a glimpse of what’s involved when writing NVDA add-ons.
But the conference doesn’t stop there: the second half is just a few hours away, and the second part starts with an introductory session on NVDA for those using other screen readers. Following that, we’ll have an exciting session on NVDA’s support for math, get a chance to learn about braille support and get a chance to talk to the gentlemen behind NVDA’s inception and history (Michael Curran and James Teh) as part of the keynote presentation.
For more information on this conference, as well as learn how to join us and listen to past conference sessions (including ones hosted last weekend such as F123 Access and Dictation Bridge), please visit http://www.nvda-kr.org/en/nvdacon.php.
Of these sessions, I’d like to cordially invite you to attend the keynote session, to be held on April 30, 2016 at 00:00 UTC (5 PM Pacific on the 29th, 8 PM Eastern and elsewhere).
If you have any questions about this conference, please write to me directly at joseph.lee22590@.... Hope to see many of you at the second half of NVDACon, especially the keynote session.
P.S. I’ll leave you with a promo on NVDA as a movement: http://www.nvda-kr.org/files/NVDASR%20movement%20promo.mp3
Thanks. Cheers, Joseph
