Re: Vocalizer from Tifloteknia

Sylvie Duchateau

Hello all,

As a user of Vocalizer voices since more than 2 years, I don't have to complaint about this synthesiser.

I lost my license rights and after some e-mail exchanges with Tiflotecnia, we found a way to solve the problem.

I had no bad experience with them.

So let's wait till the new version comes, and let's see what happens.

Best regards

Sylvie

At least other companies add features like voices that users have been
requesting. And at least they don’t keep telling users that an update is
coming for years and not delivering on that update. Again, I would like to
say that I’m wrong. I would like to say that the product we are discussing
will get updated in the features that users have been promised for a long
time will be added. So far though, that is just not reality. And until it
happens, I will keep coming out on this list and anywhere else that this
product was discussed and I will keep telling users to avoid it. There’s
really a very simple solution to this. Communicate with this list and let
users of your product no why the promised update has not come yet. Continue
to update them. Stop delivering promises that it is coming soon when it’s
not. Stop giving timelines. However, timelines continue to be delivered.
And we still don’t have an update. Not only do we not have the update, but
we don’t have any reason why the update still taking as long as it is.
Other than an email Wayback that said that they are running into a couple
of issues that should be resolved very soon. Clearly there are still
reasons why this product is not being delivered. And it’s ridiculous. You
took a vantage of your users. You’ve taken years to update your product.
User spent a lot of money on your product, the least you could do this
update them on the progress of what is going on. Instead of promising them
an update that has still not been delivered. I regret very much purchasing
the product. I am a very to satisfied user. The level of support has been
unprofessional. And the lack of software updates as bad. So I can’t
recommend it. Sorry if anyone disagrees. Again, this message is being

I do feel a lot of this should be on a site inside nvaccess though, personally.
One of the problems here is that often things get mentioned but nobody decides who is going to actually report it on github.
I had perhaps hoped the dev list might fulfill this function as a kind of triage area where devs look and thus can stop duplicates and send people onto github after that.
One of the big issues with github is its attempt to be all things to all people and ending up a bit of a mess, quite frankly if all you want to do is report a problem.

Well you get to use the new synthesizer or will it only be able to be used in windows 10?

Please try to be as sure as possible that a bug is related to NVDA or that your idea improves NVDA‘s screen reading function before posting an issue on github. It is very important because otherwise you will cause tests where no tests are needed. So please discuss your issues and ideas first on this maillist and in your language community to ensure that you are not the only one encountering the issue.

Discussions like about screen shading and so on should take place here first and after that such ideas can be posted on github.

Nimer, the product is almost ready to be released...

The major part missing is adaptation of the addons to all the changes in NVDA present and near future... We want our addons compatible with all versions of NVDA, at least at 2018.1...

Best regards,

Not only do we not have the update, but we don’t have any reason why the update still taking as long as it is. Other than an email Wayback that said that they are running into a couple of issues that should be resolved very soon. Clearly there are still reasons why this product is not being delivered. And it’s ridiculous. You took a vantage of your users. You’ve taken years to update your product. User spent a lot of money on your product, the least you could do this update them on the progress of what is going on. Instead of promising them an update that has still not been delivered. I regret very much purchasing the product. I am a very to satisfied user. The level of support has been unprofessional. And the lack of software updates as bad. So I can’t recommend it. * Synthesizer: in part 2 (Basics), you'll hear Windows OneCore (aka
Microsoft Mobile) voices in action, with Microsoft Mark making his first
appearance.
* Formatting announcement: an example of what happens when you press
NVDA+F twice quickly is included.
* NVDA menu: Preferences/Windows 10 OCR is included but the actual
dialog won't be shown.
* Add-ons preview: as you listen to NVDA menu segment, you'll hear
menu items for the following add-ons: Windows 10 App Essentials, Remote

* Opening the user guide: now done via Microsoft Edge.

Hope this helps.

  • Battery status command: while demonstrating this command on my laptop, you’ll hear a surprise message.
  • Touchscreen interaction: briefly mentioned the new Touch Interaction settings which is incubating, along with an example.
  • Synthesizer: in part 2 (Basics), you’ll hear Windows OneCore (aka Microsoft Mobile) voices in action, with Microsoft Mark making his first appearance.
  • Formatting announcement: an example of what happens when you press NVDA+F twice quickly is included.
  • NVDA menu: Preferences/Windows 10 OCR is included but the actual dialog won’t be shown.
  • Add-ons preview: as you listen to NVDA menu segment, you’ll hear menu items for the following add-ons: Windows 10 App Essentials, Remote Support, and DictationBridge.
  • Opening the user guide: now done via Microsoft Edge.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Joseph
