You can do that.

1. Open the Run dialog (Windows+R). 2. Type %Temp% in the edit box and press Enter. 3. Press n until you hear nvda-old.log and open it. 4. You can copy the text to an email message and send it here.

Windows 7, Ms word 2013 (although it doesn't always happen in Word. It just did the last two times), NVDA 2016.1, the display is connected via USB and I'm using the Unified English Grade 2 table for output and the Unified 8 Dot table for input (unless I use the snapshot, because then I use the experimental Unified table for output because it has improvements that make reading easier for me). I can't send an NVDA log file because NVDA isn't working when this problem occurs and it only shows a log of the current session when I open the log viewer. If there's a way to retrieve a previous log from somewhere, I'd love to hear it.

I'm not sure from your message what is
occurring. You say that NVDA is freezing but you also appear to state that
Microsoft Word froze as well. Does the program you are working in freeze
along with NVDA? Are other programs still running? Why not run
narrator and shut down NVDA using task manager and see if that allows things to
return to normal. If you want to use the Braille display before a solution
is found, we need to try to determine how to deal with the problem so you can
continue to do what you were doing without losing material.Â

Re: Accessible online survey creation tool
I have no idea how accessible it is, but you could also take a look at the Survey Monkey website.  They have a free version and a pro version.  I've received a lot of surveys over the years that have been created using Survey Monkey.  I would be curious to know whether the tool is accessible as far as doing the creation of a survey.  The surveys themselves are a series of webpages that use things like radio buttons, dropdown lists, text boxes, etc., for actual data entry by the survey taker. Brian Never underestimate the difficulty of changing false beliefs by facts.   ~ Henry Rosovsky   Â

NVDA still freezing, don't know what the deal is
Sharni-Lee Ward
I've mentioned this before, but it's been weeks and I don't know if I
got any more useful help after Joseph said to submit a log entry. Which given the nature of my problem, I doubt would work. Since I got my Braille Display in February, NVDA has frozen with alarming regularity. It hasn't been like previous experiences of the phenomenon either. I used to occasionally have NVDA freeze, but I could restart the screen reader with alt+ctrl+n. With this situation, I can't. NVDA completely stops working. It says nothing. The Braille display's display remains frozen on whatever was last spoken. I can't restart NVDA, and sometimes can't even shut down the computer without sighted help. That's the only way to get things working again—shut down and restart the computer. I used to only experience this soon after startup, especially when I tried to activate the snapshot with the experimental UEB table in it, but now I'm having it happen after the computer's been going for a while, and it happens on both the normal installation and the brltbl snapshot. Just now, I had it happen while I was writing in a document. I was typing merrily away when NVDA stopped reporting letters and the Braille Display, when I checked it, was only displaying the first two words I'd typed on that line. This is getting seriously annoying both for me and my mother, who is my carer. I don't know what's causing this problem but I have a horrible feeling it's to do with my Focus 40 Blue, as it didn't happen before I got it. Can anyone shed some light on this? I want it to stop so my writing and other activities don't keep getting interrupted.

Re: NVDA and tab

But the problem here is that when you are in the
proper part of the Window and have opened a page, you have to tab once at times
to be able to move in and read the page. I haven't paid much
attention to this. In my case, using firefox, it is a problem that occurs
off and on but that doesn't occur nearly every time I load a page. I
believe I've seen the same problem when using Google, though I don't use google
much.Â
Â
I haven't tested to see if the problem exists in
other screen-readers.

NVDA and tab
Hello all,
I encounter an issue when trying to get on to the Internet which I am not sure whether it is n NVDA issue or something else. For instance, when I try to get to my home page, google, the page does not seem to load and read by NVDA unless I press tab. It is only then that NVDA begins reading the page. The same issue occurs when trying to get onto other pages, as well. My operating system is Windows 10 64 bit. NVDA is the most recent. I would appreciate your comments. I have created a good survey form using Google Forms, previewed it and ensured it is the way it needs to be. Now, I am confused about a trivial yet the most important question one must ask - how can I save this and get it online for me to share its link for people to fill and submit? I have pressed the Send button, and now am trying to figure out a safe way to do do this, but am just too cautious to experiment so as not to lose all that I have created till now. Thanks.

To move down or up an item go with arrows in one item you want move, for example move a question. By NVDA's browser-mode put the cursor on the title of question. Then press ctrl+shift+k to move up, or ctrl+shift+j to move down. Automatically NVDA goes in focus-mode in the field of the title of the question your have moved. Actually, I am making good progress on making a survey form using Google Forms. One question that I have for now is moving and changing the order of the questions, i.e. moving them up and down. Ctrl + Shift + K/J is something I don't know when to press as there is not specific focusable option for an item or option. Please help me in that respect, otherwise I will try to finish the survey form for now. Thanks.

I am getting very confused with Google Forms. I cannot find links and buttons to click and follow instructions from, and the keystrokes are working in a weird way, perhaps something that I am unable to keep up with or understand. I would like to sincerely request you, or others, to please give me a quick walkthrough of Google Forms or other accessible survey creation services via any preferred medium. My contact details are all in my signature. I would truly appreciate any assistance. Thanks.
