suggestion for feedback
Rusty Perez
Hey folks,
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I think it would be a GREAT idea for NVDA to have a feedback option right in the NVDA menu. "report a problem" or something like that. Honestly, it's easier for me to just use another browser than to slog through a registration and goofing around in github to report a problem. I know, NVDA is donation ware, but it might make the product even better to make giving feedback a more painless process. :) <div id="DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2"><br /> <table style="border-top: 1px solid #D3D4DE;"> <tr> <td style="width: 55px; padding-top: 13px;"><a href="http://www.avg.com/email-signature?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail" target="_blank"><img src="https://ipmcdn.avast.com/images/icons/icon-envelope-tick-green-avg-v1.png" alt="" width="46" height="29" style="width: 46px; height: 29px;" /></a></td> <td style="width: 470px; padding-top: 12px; color: #41424e; font-size: 13px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">Virus-free. <a href="http://www.avg.com/email-signature?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail" target="_blank" style="color: #4453ea;">www.avg.com</a> </td> </tr> </table><a href="#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2" width="1" height="1"></a></div>

Well, my fix was Chrome browser. :)
Works just fine so far. So, this is not an NVDA and windows thing as far as I can tell. Unable to Start Outlook 2016 While Running NVDA
Ralph Boersema
Note: I changed the subject line when I sent the message below, but it continued with the original subject when I received it. So, I’ll try again.
I am running Windows 10 and have the latest update of NVDA. Lately my Outlook 2016 has restarted almost every time I change folders in my Outlook Mail. Then, yesterday I found that it would present a problem and not be able to restart. I could also not start up Outlook from the Windows Start menu. With the help of sighted persons, we found that we needed to exit Nvda, open Outlook and a particular mail folder, and only then start up NVDA.
Any suggestions?
Warmly, Ralph

Chris
I guess you could uninstall the add-on and re-install it again See if that solves the issue
Make sure the folder is removed after uninstalling Just to make sure
Good luck

I did that, I even rebooted the machine but the directory still has the “pending installation” in the name. I think from moving about the Window 10 environment that the addon is probably working, but I am still a little concerned. If I stop NVDA and
From remove the directory and then try a re-install will I break anything, or should I just leave well enough alone?

Hello,
I just installed the Windows 10 Essentials package and was that the directory name in %appdata% has “pending install” at the end of its name. Is something not complete and how do I get it to complete?
Thanks,

Re: Google drive nagging
Idrive is different. It has nothing to do with apple. You can do express back ups and restores, and more. He app is very accessible and you can even back up your phone as well and access that off site. It will even do facebook, one drive and I don't actually know what else. Here is my ref link.

Quick update. Apparently the uninstalling, removing all the data left
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
and reinstalling didn't work out for this particular case, not sure what else there is to try though, as we've established through trial that it isn't NVDA itself any more, or the book attempting to be read.

Is it now accessible on Windows or are you using it on a Mac? I in-installed it from both my windows 10 Desktop and Laptop last year as at that time the settings / preferences were inaccessible on both machines. Very annoying at the time.

Hi Joseph, Win+X says unknown for me and indeed does not read. The other menus that didn't read, however, didn't say unknown, just in case it matters. Kind regards, Felix

Re: Potentially important observation with Windows 10 Preview
Hi all, To be specific: Microsoft and NV Access were notified about this problem weeks ago. After investigation from both sides (with help from Windows Insiders), it was determined that a new feature under testing might have been a factor in this problem. Consequently, removing this feature resolved this issue, as implied in the release notes for build 17083. If you’re on build 17074 and notice this issue, I advise temporarily moving to fast ring or wait until the next slow ring build is released. Cheers, Joseph

Hi, What about Windows+X menu? If NVDA does not read that menu, then don’t worry – fixed in newer builds. Cheers, Joseph

Hi! I'm running Windows Insider build 17074.1002 64 bit. With this build, the current NVDA Master won't read menus in Notepad. Perhaps more importantly, context menus for files and folders in Windows Explorer are also not read. For me, that is. It would be great if other Windows Insiders could try to reproduce, to prevent this from suddenly affecting users post 2018.1. Here's one piece of evidence it's NVDA-related and not just my system: JAWS does not have those problems. Reinstall of NVDA does not fix them, neither does restoring factory defaults. Felix

Hey folks,
For the past few weeks this has been getting progressively worse. I bring up FF and hafter just a few minutes of reading a page, or scrolling down in emails, NVDA goes silent. Also, how do you use i drive, apple made a mess of the icloud interface last year so although I can select boxes with narator and nvda I can't do much else.
