On the below page you will find a link to an nvda driver. Search on the page for nvda. I am not sure how to install it in nvda, but maybe you will know it. https://www.babbage.com/drivers-firmware/ Regards, Marten

Re: Three cases when NVDA does not read windows objects
Adriani Botez
Hello,
have you installed the nvda addon windows 10 app essentials?

Von: nvda@nvda.groups.io [mailto:nvda@nvda.groups.io] Im Auftrag von Brandon Keith Biggs
Hello, There are three problems I am having with NVDA not reading window information:
I don’t know if this is a Windows problem or NVDA problem, but NVDA is only reading 1 window when I press alt+tab several times. I press alt+tab and NVDA does not say anything. Sometimes a restart of NVDA works, but not always. It just started doing this last month.
Also, in the last month, NVDA has started not to read the folder View in Windows explorer for some reason. I open up my documents or downloads and NVDA just says Explorer”. I can tab and get to the Tree view and other buttons, but the folder view is completely silent. I have turned off indexing and other things that may slow down Windows Explorer, but nothing seems to work. I have the same problems in the open and save dialogues in applications as well. The folder View does not work or freezes. I know something is there, because if I hit enter in the blank space, the folder or file opens. Also, they are there visually. Often when I restart NVDA, the folder view will read right as NVDA is turning off,, then for a very short time while NVDA is just restarted. But very quickly, the folder view becomes silent again.
NVDA also does not always enter the start menu focus when the Windows key is pressed. For example, when typing this email, I press start and NVDA does not say anything. I see the start menu pop up, but pressing arrow keys don’t do anything. If I am in an editable window, I can type and the search box in the start menu will populate, but if I am in a brows window, then NVDA thinks I am pressing navigation keys and jumps me around the page I was on.
These problems all happen at random times and I can’t figure out what triggers them. They happen enough that they are really hurting my productivity at work and I purchased another computer just because these problems were so pervasive. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix these three problems? Thank you,

Re: explanation

Some sites won't let you save the file using save
target as. Save target as is described by some people as the way to save
everything. It's not. You are saving the actual link, the way that
site is organized. Press enter on the play link and let it start to play
in whatever browser you are using, if you are using Firefox or Chrome.
Then, when play begins, use the command control s to open a save dialog.
Use that dialog to save the audio file. I'm not sure that will work in
Internet Explorer but if you are using Internet Explorer, I think it will either
open the save dialog or it will open Windows Media Player or some other
program. You can tell us what happens and we might be able to tell you how
to save the file from the player.

I've been asked by someone about accessible video editing software. I'm not overly familiar with video editing at all, so wonder if anyone is able to recommend any video editing software please?

There is an add-on for it. That will help quite a bit with usage.

What happens if you just click on the link that you are attempting to download? Perhaps it is a show notes page that then has a link to the multi-media file. Another possibility is that the link you aare clicking on starts a HTML5 player for the podcast.
Usually in the case of an HTML5 player there will also be a download link.

Re: [ChoicescriptIDE/main] Updates (and other notifications) are screen-reader friendly (#40)
Yes Choice script, as in choice of games. I wrote the developer ages ago asking if he could look into screen reader access. At the moment I am only testing with NVDA. I'm a Choice of games writer though not a programmer so if anyone has any ideas he would love feedback directly. Either on the thread or similar.

Using VLC media player with NVDA

Has anyone any experience using the VLC media player with NVDA? I've just installed it in order to take advantage of its ability to use a Chromecast, and, while I've gotten it to work, I'm wondering if anone has done a good tutorial for VLC, either with NVDA, or just in general.
