That's nice but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try
what I said. You can listen online and you will have such problems in
future with various audio streams unless you learn other ways of working with
audio sites that have podcasts than just use save target as.

Re: explanation
Gene
I looked at the cite. First, never assume
that an audio link leads directly to the audio when you try save target and it
doesn't work. If you follow the link from the home page that says podcast,
you are taken to a different web page from which you listen to the
podcast. Not everything that calls itself a podcast can be
downloaded. When you used save target as, you were saving the link to the
page you need to go to. Once you get there, you will see something, but I
don't know just what because it may depend on the browser and screen-reader
being used. The combination of NVDA and Firefox shows, partway down the
page, a line that says, web player and below that, a line that says
application.
Don't down arrow past the line that says web
player. Start tabbing. You will see a play button. Press enter
on it. The podcast will start to play. Using the space bar on the
button won't work. Never assume how things are laid out on web
pages. If something doesn't work and there is a link to follow, such as in
this case to the podcast, follow it and see what happens. Save target as
works at times and it doesn't at other times.

Please provide full links. You can go to the
page you are having a problem with, in this case the page where the link is you
are trying to follow, copy the address to the clipboard from the address bar,
then paste it into the message. That way, people can go to the same page
immediately.
The way you are doing it now, people have to verify
the address of the site with an Internet search, go to the home page, then look
for and go to what they think is the page you are having a problem with.

Either your mouse pointer is not actually in the right position to activate the link (if you are using right click, this may well be the case), or, as has already been said, the link takes to you to a page, and isn’t actually an mp3 download. Hit enter and see what happens. I personally much prefer the way Firefox handles downloads….

Re: New Skype Installation a Complete Disaster!
Gene
There are sites where JAVA scripts are
necessary. You have different alternatives. You can have more than
one copy of firefox on your machine. You can have whatever version you
have now with JAVA scripts off, and a portable version, the same version but a
portable one, with JAVA scripts on. You would use one when you
want to have JAVA scripts off and the other when you want them on.
You can turn scripts on when you need them in
Firefox in about:config, and then turn them off again, but that is
inconvenient. You can use a program like noscript. I haven't used it
to any extent and I'm not sure how convenient or accessible it is.
I didn't say anything about your sincerity.
You obviously believe what you are saying. You never present any basis for
it nor do you explain why computer and security experts who say you should use
such programs are wrong.
This appears to verge on classic conspiracy theory
thinking. With all the businesses and government agencies and schools
and scientific organizations in the world who rely on such programs, and with
all the white hat hackers in the world, if a program were selling information
stolen by their programs, it would be headline news.
If you trust malware designers to keep your
computer safe more than reputable antimalware programs, that's your
choice. It is not logical but that's your choice.

Re: Earlier version working
but for me, who use nvda 2017.2, nvda becomes silent many times, i
should unload it again, after ten seconds nvda loads again and only says: nvda loading please waite and i cant do anytthing. one time i experienced this very seriously and could not do anything just says: please waite! so, i restart my system to work again. for me, previous versions until 2016.2 was very great and responsive. between newer versions, i only did not have this issue (at least most of times was responsive), only 2017.1 On 2/14/18, Brian's Mail list account via Groups.Io <bglists=blueyonder.co.uk@groups.io> wrote: That is indeed very odd, as in the main I'd say that the last two versions -- we have not sent you but as a mercy to the entire creation. holy quran, chapter 21, verse 107. in the very authentic narration from prophet Mohammad is: indeed, imam husayn is the beacon of guidance and the ark of salvation. best website for studying islamic book in different languages www.al-islam.org

Re: Earlier version working

You can always complicate matters
unnecessarily. The rule about subject lines is a standard part of
netiquette. You can have subject lines that say things like, NVdA crashes
when Microsoft Word is run. That is a subject line. You can go into
detail in the message. If the problem is solved, the solution should not
be in a changed subject line. It should be in a message body. If you
can give concrete examples where a subject line needs to be changed or cannot be
adequate, I'll consider them. I can not see any such cases. A
subject is that which something is about. How can you have a subject that
can't be defined in such a way?

i disabled javascript and many features of firefox. but i said with complete sincerity that i dont trust any security programs and never use them. i changed many settings in options and also about:config i realy wish to know which setting i change and i cant login to my quora account with disabling javascript! can you please tell me changing what setting may caused this problem for me? openning sites with javascript, displaying frames and flash content is extremely difficult, specially for screen reader users. i realy dont believe in updating softwares, operating system and concerning about technology. it causes just afraid, worried, and sadness to always be change, think about beeing updating and just use new technologies.

Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>
That is indeed very odd, as in the main I'd say that the last two versions of nvda have been much better than anything from 2015, unless the version of Firefox or a combination of add ons in it are doing things not entirely expected.

I think the issue often is that depending on how the messages are read, ie in what software depends on whether one has to do something special to alter a sub line or create a new one and or quote an old one in it. its not as simple as you make it sound for many people.

Please don't change subject lines and start new
threads when talking about the same subject. You started an entirely
new thread and your subject line has little or no meaning to anyone who doesn't

following the thread in the archives, if you change the subject line, you start
an entirely new thread and make it much harder for people to follow the

having a problem with. The subject didn't change to a statement that you
got it working. the subject is still the same. That you got it
working is a statement about the subject that should be in the message body.
I am becoming increasingly concerning with the
