Re: skype phase out

Hmph, well I really hope they do, they were doing so good with their userbase.

When I started with win10 we had music, and I used it could have used it a lot more.

I spent a lot of cash on it.

Then music went away.

They got the apps in accounts now so at least things can be done without their stupid microsoft account junk.

They have local account questions I wander if that happens only if you have a password or not.

From then on  things have changed and changed to a point who knows.

With skype going away I guess we have to learn the app but to be honest who knows.

Hi.

Yeah we can no longer get skype classic anymore people have put it out on dropbox, technically you can still get it if you have a tablet but still.

Someone needs to tell microsoft that skype 8 is not really that accessible, and as well as that maybe the classic desktop interface at least some of it should become part of the skype app.

For now, skyprivate seems to have the file.

http://download.skyprivate.com/skype/win/SkypeSetupFull.exe

The article I got from it was updated on the 15th and explains how to get skype going and I found it with skype classic on google search.

I am going to have to backup my skype classic to my dropbox though its a real shame ms is killing skype for its users now.

I still use it off and on if skype is becomming inaccessible, well that will become a problem.

I used it to help family members get a job, if it goes away I will have to say I can no longer help anymore.

.

Re: Phasing out of 7

Well I think you have to forget xp, its crap because microsoft says it is, its not secure, its a useless crappy os now.

Now the interface, I miss the classic interface, I want it back.

Well if they would improve skype 8 to be more accessible or improve
skype app so that some of the good features of skype 7 are ported over
thats all we ask.

Now it does appear that the download links for skype classic have
changed, I have found 1 link to get skype classic, but to be honest, its
really not skype classic users want, I don't really want skype classic,
I just want to use the latest skype in an accessible way.

Hmmm, there is a thought I wander if I was a skype insider, I wander if
that would change things some.

Further more He said that we can use Skype classic as long as that

He said that if anyone of you is facing any kind of problem using Skype
classic, feel free to contact Skype support and they will always be

Skype classic.
That’s what the result of conversation between me and Skype support team

switch over from Skype classic to either Skype 8 for those who are using
less than windows 10 or Skype app for windows 10 for those who are using
windows 10.
To my best knowledge if we all screen reader users regardless of what

There is a need of unity among users of screen reader users.
It is not the time to argue a screen reader against a screen reader that

use, can google hangouts work for pc, or what.

I have 1 friend on zello but I havn't really used it.

Everyone I know have whats app skype or facetime but well for me skype
is used a lot and the family well.

When is skype to not nolonger be supported as a valid version of skype?

If it goes I guess I will have to try to use 8 and the universal app.

Hi,
I’ll be abandoning Skype when 7 dies as well. I’ve had a mess with 8,
and as far as I’m concerned, it stinks.
It’s a shame though. While I also have a TeamTalk server, and while the
quality is indeed a lot better, TeamTalk is meant, A, for teams, and B,
not for telephony. To use TeamTalk as a substitute for Skype would be a
pain, since someone would first have to contact you by other means to
ask you to come on TT, something which obviously isn’t necessary with
Skype.
Not only that, but perhaps the biggest issue is that Skype was my
primary telephone.
So yeah. Going Skypeless will indeed take a lot of getting used to.
I can’t ever see me going back to Skype. Crashes, accessibility
shortfalls and process hogging are only the primary issues. And there’s
me thinking Skype could never be any slower and broken than it already
was in 7.
Cheers.
Damien.

Another brief comment or two.  In future if something like this comes up, I'll let the list know if the problem has been resolved when it is.  I didn't anticipate this discussion.  I thought that if nothing happened, the topic would stop.  But given the strong feelings some list members have, I should have anticipated and stopped the discussion by telling the list that the problem was resolved.  I did notify the owner off list but that didn't stop this situation from arising.

Also, I'm sorry if some people think I've been to critical in my response but I feel strongly about this.  The contact the owner link is there for a reason.  I hope no one was offended by the tone of my last message but if a situation like this arises in future, please don't pour oil on the fire by discussing the matter on list.  Write to the owner's contact address.

I shall now lock the topic.

One final comment and then I shall lock the topic.  Doesn't anyone have any common sense?  If Maheen is unstable and disruptive, then why is anyone discussing him on the list?  Does it really take a masters degree in psychology to realize that this discussion should have been directed to the contact the owner's link which is given in every e-mail?  This is definitely not the way to handle such a situation.  If such a situation arises in future, please discuss it off list.  this is strictly an administrative matter and is completely off topic for this list and, if Maheen were still a member of the list, what do you think you would be accomplishing by having him see all these very negative comments about him on the list.  You are just asking for trouble if your comments are true.

Again, doesn't anyone have any common sense?

This sounds like what happens when Excel is recalculating the worksheet.

Do you have many formulas in the document? If so, I recommend that you set the calculation to manual in the Formulas ribbon in Excel. Then you can press F9 when you are ready to recalculate the sheet.

Re: issue with google chrome 64 update.

Gene

What happens when you use the back space to go back?  I suspect it won't work either, but it should be checked to further determine the problem.

Subject: [nvda] issue with google chrome 64 update.

Hello.

for those who have updated google chrome for the 64 version.
When you enter a link on a website, and to go back with alt left arrow
chrome doesn't obey this command.
back and forward.
I don't know if it's a problem of NVDA cannot seem to update the
information, or if it is a bug of accessibility in chrome.
someone's come across this?
some tips?
thank you.
cheers.
