Ok, trashed old installation, including deleting old user profile app
data, and reinstalled from scratch, and all seems to be working again now.

Dear all,
As the subject line quite clearly suggests, my request is to add a
feature in the NVDA Elements List dialog which includes the listing of
clickable elements on the page too. Also, a particular key (which may
remain unassigned by default, if needed) should be able to navigate to
the clickable elements.
Before filing a ticket for the same, I was in doubt if this proposal
had already been brought up in the past or if it is worthy of a new

Thanks.

Re: Translation add-on

Waqas Ramzan

Hi! Yes you are right! The addon has stopped working because of following reason:
The instant translate addon uses Google Translate API to translate text across language. Now Google has changed the API and the addon can't use it.
The addon can't work until Google change the API again or the addon author find another translate API.

I don't think that there is an alternative addon available at this time. I suggest you to use other translation software such as QTranslate.
Hope that will help!

Best Regards!

Hi Lindy,

Theoretically the VR Stream should be able to read ePub files.  ePub is actually a lot more complex format than it seems from the outside.  I'm not 100% sure whether the issue is with the way the Stream reads ePub files, or the way I've created the ePub file.  I'll keep working on it, but for now I can confirm that the HTML version of the text reads fine, you need to place it in the $VRText folder, and navigate to "Notes" to find it.

Kind regards

Quentin.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to do this with my second generation VR stream. When I unzip the file and arrow down to the epub file, it states that this is encrypted. Is this why it does not register on the VR stream’s $VR dtb folder when I try to paste it in with either JAWS or NVDA? I have not dealt with encrypted files before and would appreciate some advice/help.

Hi, to the moderators of the list, why do you allow and advertise the
codefactory addon if it is so buggy. Many have complained, and no answers

Right now I'm trying to get use to the Outlook.com interface, to prepare myself in an event that WLM2012 stops working. The Skype intigration in the interface is a great feature that those of you who use Skype should appreciate.

One feature that I'd wish Microsoft would implement is sound notifications for new emails. Right now I only rely on the new email sound from my iPhone.

As I said before, I believe on this list, just because the change is going to be made has nothing to do with whether this message is legitimate.  If the message, which I no longer have, asks people to click on links, they may be taken to a malicious site where they are asked to give information that will allow hackers to look at or take over their account. or the page may attempt to download something malicious to their computer or both.
For all we know, the Active X control may try to download something malicious onto a computer.  Whether it can do so in most cases or not, the message may be attempting to be malicious.

For me, rather than changing my default email account and stick with Windows Live Mail, I would just try to adapt to the change. Let's face it, in today's tech world nothing can remain the same forever. Until now I've resisted upgrading to Windows 10 but I've decided that the day must come when I have to say 'good-bye' to Jaws and Windows 7.

It would be a good idea if someone could make a NVDA tutorial on how to use Outlook.com, so that people will feel more comfortable, knowing that there is at least a training manual for Outlook.com.

Its obvious they really have no care to try to fix eloquence being its old and that.
Valve are doing the same with steam.
For the rest I am uncertain.
If I used eloquence at all which I won't be it would not be the legal one for the simple reason its got a lot of issues I wouldn't use.
Dectalk synth is low cost and should be ok even though its not eloquence and even if some of the voices are quiet at least its legal if you ask and pay a little.

Probably they will turn their back on that to, its possible they want everyone to use their mail app.
I suggest you move away and delete your outlook account, if you need an ms account make another one based on your gmail address.
Unlike with other things ms has done to us there is a way to exit and I suggest you take it as soon as you can.

I'm not sure myself, buyt normally such changes talke place and
phishing folk tag on to them to take advantage of the confusion when it
happens. A while vack now I had a genuine email from Microsoft with a
message saying that as a hotmail user, great new facilities will be
coming shortly, so one has to wonder.
However my comments I have made here and in the message I am writing to
send next are a good idea in any case. I do not like the Outlook online
email system.

I bet this is a phishing e-mail. Notice the incorrect address for the
Outlook site.

Action required for users of Windows Live Mail 2012. Dear
User, Earlier this year we announced updates to Outlook.com that will
help you collaborate with others, focus on what matters, and get more
done.

Action required for users of Windows Live
Mail 2012

Dear User,

Earlier this year we introduced a new
Outl‍ook‍.‍com that will help you collaborate with others, focus on
what matters, and get more done. The new Outlo‍ok‍.‍com delivers an
exciting set of new experiences across web, phone, and desktop, and
we’re eager for you to start using it.

It appears that you are currently using Windows
Live Mail 2012 to connect to your Out‍look‍.‍com account. Windows Live
Mail 2012 does not support the synchronization technologies used by
the new Outl‍ook‍.‍com. When account upgrades begin at the end of
June, you will no longer be able to receive email sent to your
Out‍look‍.‍com account in Windows Live Mail 2012. Rest assured, you
can always access your email by logging into Out‍look‍.‍com from any
web browser, and you will continue to have access to all your data
that is currently in Windows Live Mail 2012.

If you currently use Windows Live Mail 2012, we
recommend that you switch to the Mail app in Windows to‍day. The Mail
app is built in to Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10, and has a more modern
design. To begin using it, simply launch the app and add your
Out‍look‍.‍com account.

If you are using Windows 7, you can upgrade to a
newer version of Windows to enjoy the Mail app and the other benefits.
If you do not wish to upgrade, you can access your account via a web
browser, or, you can take advantage of a free one-year subscription of
Office 365 Personal, and use Outl‍ook 2016 to connect to your
account.* This Off‍ice 365 subscription also includes other
productivity applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. It works
on Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, and Windows 10.

Please take action before Ju‍ne 30th, 2016, which
is when we’ll begin upgrading accounts that currently use Windows Live
Mail 2012. If you have more questions, please find answers to common
FAQs in this help article, or you can contact Microsoft support.

We recognize that changes like this can be
difficult, and apologize for any inconvenience this causes you. We
hope that you’ll enjoy the benefits of moving to the new Outl‍ook‍.‍com.

Sincerely,
Outl‍ook‍.‍com team

Re: Fw: Action required for users of Windows Live Mail 2012

Well hotmail is now outlook.com
In fact I don't even think you can link some of these older accounts via pop.
The only reason I have an msn account is that when I moved away from my isp, 20 years or so back it was never recalled.
It has no mailbox attached to it and can not be used as an outlook account or anything.
It can be used for other things.
I have my gmail account as an alternit but thats just about it.
Even when I had to use hotmail as part of my disability indipendance course I hated its restrictions even then and this was back in 2001.
It was bad then and worse now.
If you are in a business with a lot of things well.
Saying that I would always have a backup.
I am happy I pulled out of the ms previding mail scene ages ago.
As for email clients eudora7 was good, now thunderbird is as long as it doesn't die.
If it does I am unsure where I would go.

So what about other email clients in use, what about older accounts like

Luckily I only have one hotmail account.
To me this smacks of centre of the universe syndrome. Best advice seems
to be to use another email provider of free emails with eirher a better
online interface or still uses pop3 and any old email client.
I use Outlook express and I suspect a lot still do from looking at
headers of emails I see here.
If they are going to make a bespoke system they cshould publish how it
works so third parties can emulate the protocol on their clients in my
view, or expect to be left behind by the m leaving of people who do not
want things t change for changes sake.
