Dear all, For a certain purpose, I am in need of an accessible screen capturing and recording software for my Windows 8.1 powered laptop. According to my preliminary research, some recommended accessible programs for this purpose include Camtasia, Open Broadcasting Software and WebInAria. I have perfunctorily read about or tried each of these software and following is a summary of my present knowledge: Camtasia: I have installed the huge software’s free trial for now. I seem unable to find any self-explanatorily worded option to start a screen recording, am just Tabbing around the interface through the different options and some unlabelled toggle buttons, and am uncertain as to how I should proceed from this point. Open Broadcasting Software: I have seen a blind individual recommending OBS Classic, which fork of this software is now deprecated according to the developer’s website. Should I still try out OBS Classic, or is the newer OBS studio accessible? WebInAria: This software seems to have no dedicated website of its own, the number and quality of ratings it has received on software hosting sites are low, and it seems like this program hasn’t been updated in several years now. I would deeply appreciate it if you could either shed some light on the above-mentioned software, or alternatively suggest other accessible screen capturing and recording software that are usable with a screen reader, especially NVDA. Thanks.

Hi, Chris, Excuse me. I think I did not express myself well What I am referring to is the bookmark panel in Firefox, wich is completely different. Note that Firefox also have a bookmar toolbar, but I don't use it. Instead, I use bookmark panel. In Firefox I can go to the bookmark panel, go to a folder of sites called Daily, for example, use down arrow to go to Site A and access it with ENTER. After that, with a couple of strokes in F6 key, I go to the bookmark panel, where Site A is already selected. So, to browse in Site B, all that I need is an arrow down and a ENTER. and so forth. To visit Site C, the next in my list, again, F6 twice to go to the bookmark panel, where Site B is selected and another down arrow. and ENTER. All these steps are easier done than described. This allows me to visit websites in order making sure I don't miss anyone. So, the lack of something similar in Chrome is the only reason I continue to use Firefox 52 ESR. Cheers. f123 chrome extention? Hi I use Chrome an have organised bookmarked sites into folders. I’ve set Chrome to display the Bookmarks bar and this shows my folders. You can access the bookmarks bar using shift+f6, arrow to the folder of choice, Open with down arrow, then use first letter navigation to load the bookmarked page of choice.
Alternatively, press alt, then spacebar, then b to open the Bookmarks sub-menu where the folders are accessible via first letter navigation as well as the bookmarks within the folders.

Hi, What I like in Firefox is the bookmarks panel. As my bookmarks are all organized in logical groups, I can browse sites in a sequence. For example, I have a Daily folder and can navigate all the sites, in order, simply by going to the bookmark panel and going to the next bookmark with a simple stroke in the down arrow key. Using Chrome to navigate in the order I want is very time consuming.

NVDA Next 15037, Win 7 64 Bit, Firefox 64 Bit 59.0.2: browser gets stuck when loading larger websites
Eigeldinger Simon
Hi all,
I just saw this issue still exists: Win 7 Pro 64 Bit NVDA Next 15037 Firefox 59.0.2 64 Bit
Many larger websites are getting stuck and the browser doesn’t respond. Anyone has seen that still happening? An example page is for example the Heise Online Newsticker, which is a computer magazine: https://www.heise.de/newsticker/
I actually thought this bug has been resolved?
Greetings and thanks, Simon

Re: Nvda and Vocalizer: how to buy just one Voice
Iván Novegil
In my opinnion, it depends on what exactly you need. For instance, Code Factory's Vocalizer requires an internet connection at least once a month, and some users have complaint about the actiovation system. It also depends too much on external executables, more than Tiflotecnia's Vocalizer. And I can ensure that vocalizer Driver v4 by Tiflotecnia is being
developed. I don't know the conditions under it will be released,
but the fact is that it exists.

NVDA problem after Windows log-in
Chris Mullins
Hi I have a long standing issue over several NVDA versions where after entering my Windows password, NVDA fires up but only appears to be partially loaded. I get voice output as I use windows commands to move around. NVDA+n doesn’t work, so I accessed the log file using the system tray icon but I could not move around in the log file using arrow keys. I loaded Outlook 2007, opened a message then tried to read the message body using NVDA+DownArrow but just a number was read out and when I repeated the command, the number increased by 5 each time. I saved the log file, used Ctrl+alt+n to reload NVDA and all began working normally. This happens all the time and on many occasions after reloading NVDA, there are 2 references to NVDA in the system tray overflow area. The log file below shows a Watchdog_watcher warning of ‘Core frozen in stack’. Can anyone shed any light on what is happening here? I’m using windows 10 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.371).
Cheers Chris

I live in Brazil and the obstacle for using Vocalizer is the price. Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>
It happens about 1 time in three, and its obvious now that when it occurs its because nvda does not get time to close at log out always, so one assumes its still running when you restart but crippled. This could be the same issue I've mentioned about updates not always starting after an install in nvda.

Just now I noticed that the context menus had stopped reading as often can happen on exiting a misbehaving bit of software, but that is not the thrust of this.
I'm using windows 7 and I decided to log off then log in to me again as this usually fixes the problem. Having done this though I then found that I could not bring up the nvda menu. The only way for fixing this was to restart nvda. The nvda did not terminate it just was closed forcible as one could see in the log. Then restart again. I've since tried this several times logging off then on again with exactly the same results. I'm using windows 7 64 and nvda latest master version as installed copy. This reminded me of the old xp issue of it thinking an nvda window was there and hence decide not to do anything. Brian bglists@blueyonder.co.uk Sent via blueyonder.
