I've not used it lately but now Spotify is a commercial company they may well be playing the same game as Twitter ie we control what you do.

What about the old CD burner xp as it claims to do dvds and work on windows 10, but as I do not do dvds myself, I'd not know the details.

There is a new version of this just out. However some say it actually works better on phones than on the pc, which is odd as on a phone its getting photo and on the pc, one assumes its a scanned in image already.

You are invited: NVDACon 2018 - Future-Proofing NVDA, June 1-3, 2018
Dear NVDA community,
Please pass on the following invitation to many people as possible:
Dear NVDA users, developers, sponsors and others,
The NVDA community and NV Access would like to invite you to join us at NVDACon 2018: Future-Proofing NVD8, to be held on June 1-3, 2018 at NVDACon TeamTalk Server.
NVDACon (NVDA Users and Developers Conference) is an annual gathering of the NVDA community to discuss all things NonVisual Desktop Access, a free, open-source, community-driven screen reader for Microsoft Windows. Started in 2014, NVDACon has attracted participants from all over the world, as well as being a venue for reviewing NVDA’s progress, current features, and planning its future. Topics discussed at past conferences include using Google products, add-ons festival, Windows 10 support, DictationBridge, how community members can help develop NVDA without coding it and so on.
This year’s NVDACon theme is “Future-Proofing NVDA”. Today’s NVDA was possible thanks to investments in future-proofing the screen reader in the past. Today, with more people realizing how important accessibility is, and with fast pace of technical innovations, it is important that NVDA, too, react to changes in technology and mindset of users who expect the screen reader to become more integral in their lives in the future. At NVDACon 2018, several sessions, including talks by noted NVDA experts and a keynote by NV Access, will feature what the community is doing to future-proof NVDA, as well as what people inside and outside the community can do to help make technology equally accessible to more people.
For more information about NVDACon, including steps on how to join us, visit g. We the NVDA co9mmunity look forward to seeing you at NVDACon 2018!
Sincerely,
The NVDACon 2018 Organizers
Thanks. Cheers, Joseph

Re: OCR Solution
Brian's Mail list account
The problem with all of these and of course the win10 and the add on for nvda is that its extremely time consuming. It would be really neet if you could just present something with a series of pdfs or one big one and come back leater to a workable file of text, even if the graphics and diagrams were missed out.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Not seen this on anything thus far, yet one might suppose those using pdf files might like to have this as a built in process. maybe it is in some pro version of the Adobe Suite, don't know. Certainly fine reader is used a lot by other ocr programs., Muy one issue for English is that i and l can get muddled. I have a friend called Della, it always makes her Delia, and a nearby place called New malden is New Maiden. Which though can be funny is also a bit irritating! Brian bglists@... Sent via blueyonder. Actually I found clipspeak to be slow and buggy, in some cases giving errors in word. I use the dumb clipboard announcements add ons, there are several around but they are not inteligent, in that they do not inform if its worked or not.

Freemake video converter is only 9 bucks, it’s consider as a donation they give you a key. It’s worth it if you burn a lot!

You need to download the "Clip Speak" add on to get NVDA to inform you about when you perform the commands to copy, paste, select all.
Hope this helps?

accessible DVD burning software with NVDA
Dan Beaver
Hi,
I used to use FreemakeVC for this but they have changed it some time back and it now places a "Freemake" watermark on the middle of the video.
Does anyone know of a good free accessible DVD burning software? I am trying to burn from MP4 files at this time.
Thanks.

Re: OCR Solution
Nika Tsiklauri
hello! from my experience, some gui apps start crashing whenever they see large files. I also think that the commandline version would be wonderful. There is an issue though, there is no official support for the latest version of Tesseract OCR on windows. based on my experience, previous versions have a terrible quality of recognition. Best wishes, Nick.
