What I did was change it manually with the associate protocols option, which I don't know if it's showed this way in native English. Anyway, you can try to do it and see if it gives you some result. Em 22/06/2018 21:48, Jaffar Sidek

The only way to do this would be go into the registry and delete the registry entries for Firefox. I could be wrong.

Re: NVDA question
1. It sounds like you have audio ducking set to "Always On," which is not the default. Open the NVDA Menu, Preferences, Synthesizer option and check what audio ducking is set to. The default is no ducking.
2 There are tricks one could try to do this, but why not just install NVDA? 3. Speech off is exactly what it says. Sleep mode keeps NVDA running, but essentially disables over the application where you put it to sleep it until you wake it up. It's watching for one and only one command, NVDA+Shift+Z to wake it up when focus is on that application. Here's what the Commands Quick Reference says: Sleep mode disables all NVDA commands and speech/braille output for the current application. This is most useful in applications that provide their own speech or screen reading features. Press the command again to disable sleep mode. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1803, Build 17134 Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong. ~ H.L. First, turn off audio ducking and this
should stop the volume lowering problem. If the nvda portable is
in a directory on your computer, you can make a shortcut to
nvda.exe and then put a copy of this in your startup group and it
will start automatically. If you're running portable version from
a USB stick or other removable media, then this can't be done. Speech off turns off nvda's speech globally while sleep mode silences speech for the currently active program only but it will return when you switch to another program. This is good if you have a self voicing program. Roger

I found NVDA files left after the uninstall in the program files (x86) folder. There are 21 files. I tried removing the directory manually, removing the files with a global delete and one by one. In all cases I got the same message saying that the process could not be completed because a file is in use.
I have never used safe mode. Can a screen reader, JAWS 2018, read the screen in safe mode?
How do I get in to safe mode? Is that the right next step?

In the latest nvda system, the lib folders are renamed and new files are written to new copies, then the old files deleted. If any of this fails then this error can occur. I noticed it with another piece of software about a week ago. A complete clear out fixed it.
However great care went into the fail safe nature for nvda in this regard, but it might well be a very old version of nvda if then updated to a very new one might throw up errors we have not experienced. Brian

You said that it was uninstalled. That doesn't mean all files were removed.
The next question, which has been discussed here before but which I didn't try to remember the answer to, is what files are left when uninstalling. It
appears from the cannot overwrite a file message, that at least one file is in use. I don't know why but such questions may help you solve the proboem.
Perhaps something wasn't fully uninstalled that should have been and Windows
is keeping a file in use, perhaps because a registry entry is still present that tells it to. In short, I suspect that completely removing the program may require dealing with such questions or, perhaps, going into safe mode and removing the extra files.

It's probably not your decision, and I don't know how much influence you have over the process, but just for general reference, if this database is going to be used by multiple people simultaneously, Microsoft Access is *not* the program to be used for this, since it doesn't do well with such usage. Of course, if it's just something that will be posted for others to grab a copy when needed, then that doesn't apply, and the use is just fine, but just be aware of that before trying to build a whole subdepartment on such a system, it won't go well.

Yes, the hardware is all right. I had some concerns about it when I got my preproduction unit (battery rattling around loosely, easily fixed), but I understand they’ve fixed some of that stuff, and you get a carrying case now…I haven’t got that yet, I hope to be getting a replacement unit with the hardware issues and firmware updates addressed. Hopefully Josh can comment on the case. One other thing to note: charging is not via USB. In fact, there is no USB charging at all. Charging is via a dedicated charging socket using some sort of laptop power supply, 19 volts at a couple amps…I forget exactly. Anyway, charging is fast, being done in an hour, which should make up for any sort of inconvenience introduced by not being a USB charger.

Re: Problem when updating NVDA with Firefox running
Jonathan COHN
Hello,
I believe this is a long standing known issue and is true in some other Assitive Technologies that Firefox content is not recognized if the AT was started after the content was rendered.
In some cases a refresh of the page has resolved issues like this, but Firefox has gone through a major change in accessibility access since I first looked at these issues.
I wonder, does hitting the control-alt-N command restart NVDA when Firefox is running and if so, does this also cause a lost of NVDA navigation within the current Firefox page?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Re: Updated the wiki
It looks like anyone can edit the wiki if they have a github account. Yeah, I don't fork it or anything I just edit it directly. I do, however, plan on making a seperate page talking about how accessible the portable apps suite is, and the accessible portable software out there. I use portableapps to try software without bogging down my registry which is nice! Does anybody know if you can create a child page underneath that one? Yeah, the more people editing it, the better, in my opinion, so if you have a git hub account, brush up on your markdown and edit it directly.

Besides NBP, you should send this info to Innovision directly: Innovision <customercare@...> I’ve also pointed out the loud beep. It is very loud. Sorry they haven’t addressed that. So…the uppercase only is a problem inside files? I was alerted that filenames must be all uppercase, but hadn’t had any files to check that I felt like renaming.
