Hi,

What VMware Center are you using? AFAIK older versions are completely
unusable and inaccessible, but newer versions are not longer using flash
but html5, which is working better.

We are still using 6.5 and I am also not able to access our VMcenter,
but an update to 6.7 is planed and I hope things will get better.

Many things regarding managing VMs do not have be done via the
webinterface. If ssh is enabled on your VMcenter host and you can log
in you can use the command line. Also on nodes of an VMware cluster this
is possible. Also there is an apliance from VMware which can be used to
manage virtual machines via perl script or power shell, but I have to
find out more if you are interested.

So in conclusion the command line will help you much more then the
webinterface. The gui might get more accessible in future, but I am sure
that not all things might be done with a screenreader.

Schoepp

Re: Security in NVDA

Hi René,

In a secure environment, you can run NVDA with the --secure command line argument which does disable the python console (as well as disabling the add-on manager).

Kind regards

Quentin.

It's highly a security risk!
Just in Alpha and Beta versions the function should be it enabled by
default only.

You're right it is one of those annoying little inconsistencies, and I do hope they address it someday (if you notice they do before I do, please let me know as I could clarify that section of the Microsoft Word with NVDA training material considerably!)

Re: accessible disk imaging software

I have used the windows version in my university days and it works well enough.

Speaking of linux, the next windows is supposed to be able to natively read mac and unix text files.

Would have been good if I had this feature in university more than 10 years back.

I had to use a unix to dos converter  and dos to unix to read text files on each os.

And once it was dos text, windows could read it and convert it to windows text format.
