I think its fine to mix them, but not actually tried it. Its mainly the gui that is the issue and each is local to that copy so really should not affect things unless I'm misreading the data.

Not always. I had this on soundcloud the other day as obviously the sender had no idea they were using a corporate account and that any recipient needed their log in details.

How are they sending it to you? If its a cloud service the person the other end has maybe password protected it. However I think we will start to see this more if the EU get their way on making services vet uploaded content.

I use dropbox, which at the moment at least allows you to send a public link to a recipient via email.

It depends. Obviously they're are many character sets and if the one used is different it will either be another character or if the language is not loaded or the conversion table not there, then you tend to get the control char and some number that represents the character.
I used to see this a lot when Apple machines quoted or pasted text.
=20 and other numbers inserted randomly and no line breaks. Its been an issue for many years.

Have you tried this? I'm not sure it will work well. Captchas use distorted letters and numbers and I don't know how well a camera picture of a screen will show the distorted characters. Some captchas use other methods but a lot still use distorted characters.

The 32 bit version I think, only. If it was Waterfox might work, but not tried it. I think, as I said before the picture based kind are not really machine solvable.

Aside from this add-on appearing to be abandoned, for captcha services you like that can't be used with the current Firefox, if you get a portable version of Firefox that supports the add-on or add-ons, you can use the portable version just on sites where you want to solve a captcha and the current version for other sites.

The last version of Firefox to support a lot of older add-ons is 52ESR.

The simplest thing for such sites to do is to give a way to send to the site admin a message. It would not help a spammer as they will only be sending to a single account, but if one is blind you could be given a special code to bypass the device when you log in.

Which is ridiculous. The sites using the nasty things should have to repay
those of us forced to use them.
I stand by my original stance. Never use one that is not solvable by a
blind person.
There are many other ways to outwit a spammer and they should use those.
One of the best is a graphic which says, do not check this if you are not a
spammer. There is no alt tag, but elsewhere in the preamble this is
mentioned that any unlabelled check box should be left unchecked.

No its not there. I think the bigger issue with these is that the wobbly writing is now seldom encountered, it is now the picture description method which is used,
This no doubt is done to thwart the techniques used by such add ons and spammers. However in doing the deed of making it a picture recognition system they are, in my view, in many countries breaking disability law.
If they want to stop spam, they will never win, so why do they keep coming up with terribly bad solutions?

Yes its as if although it should be not interacting with that link at the start, it is being seen by the google code. Are there any other sites that use Google calendar in a similar way yet do not show this issue?

I have raised a ticket as I do not think, in browse mode nvda should be detected by the code on the page. Jaws is not seen by the look of it, but nvda is, and I wondered if there might be a setting to stop it in nvda or if its a long standing bug but its not shown up till this Google calendar code came along.
Its a bit embarrassing that its a site for local blind people . I'll go and hide.

That is bizarre--I tried it with NVDA on Internet Explorer on my Windows 7
64-bit machine and if I scrolled up from the event list, which was indeed a
month behind the date it was supposed to be showing, then the month would
change, too! It kept going backwards, and then I arrowed down and the events

Our charity has a page with an events calendar on it at

Now with nvda, I can navigate by header to the frame with the calendar in
it. I can hear it say the date its showing events from, with a clickable if
you wish to change it, but when I cursor down, it seems that the calendar
date is a month before the date its supposed to be.
With me so far?
However just powered up jaws 2018 and tried to do the same thing. Headers
do not seem to work to that point. I need to stop before it and go down, but
I'm still cursoring down and this time the event in the calendar does not
alter at all. This is in the latest version of firefox and the latest
version of Waterfox. Both seem to behave the same, ie differently on the
calendar.

Its as if the calendar thinks I've hit the scroll up in nvda but is OK in
Jaws. About the headings, well I am not an expert on Jaws, so I might be
missing something.


So what is occurring, our site builder is beginning to lose his mind!
