Sorry David,

I did not understand what your problem was and went looking for the actual
edit fields.

Now I see what you mean! I agree with you that NVDA does not speak the
labels of the three editable Info fields when I tab to them. However, NVDA
does speak the labels of the author edit fields when I tab to them.

We could raise this as an issue on Github.

David,

Yes, I can replicate all of your points. In fact it was only really
necessary to tab between the groupings I then used the down-arrow to move to
each of the items in the same group. I got the same sequence as you did.

I also used tab as you specified and got the same results. However, I needed
to press tab to move from the info grouping to the properties grouping,
through the blank rows and next Itabbed to the autohr grouping.

I'm a bit lost! What are we looking for?

Thank you for your message. Yes, before sending my message, I searched the archive and found a few messages describing that issue with VBA macro editing. I could not find an issue on fithub for it. Perhaps I did not use the correct search terms. It is an issue that I also used to have. Things seem much better in my current configuration. However, I am so used to doing most of my macro editing in Notepad that I often still do so, but it is good to have the choice, especially for quick changes. I hope that you will also have the choice one day soon.

I use VBA editor in office 2007 and have for a long time had navigation issues when using it with NVDA. When using arrow keys to navigate it will completely lose position within the macro code. It is so bad I have to code in Notepad then copy into the editor for syntax checking and testing. I have raised this issue on the list in the past but have had no responses.

NVDA with Links and Attachments

Hi NVDA Group,

I have both Mozilla (older classic) version on my computer, probably
52 as well as Internet Explorer 10 as browser options. In my
profession, I need to view attachments, and it would be helpful to
view them as prepared rather than in HTML. I use GMail.

The questions are these:
1. In GMail, If I type in an internet address using Internet Explorer,
will it automatically become a link in the email? Is there a hot key
to do the same with Mozilla?
I read where Mozilla changed things so links add when an email arrives
at the receiving program at that program's discretion.
2. Per attachments, how can I open an attachment in GMail with
Mozilla,as a totally blind user? The old method has not worked for a
good 2 years.
Or, is there an email service that would run like a Classic Google Version?
Thanks for advisement on both issues.

Well I see no error even on a portable version of nvda. I'm not sure what logging level you are on and why you are using a portable version as I find that in Windows10, portable copies of nvda are becomeing increasingly unusable due to many accessibility bits being only open to an installed program with the right permissions.

Hello guys!
I am having several problems with the eclipse and NVDA.
I am programming in java language, and when I open the program, NVDA
is unable to put the focus in the program.
When I go with alt+tab and I press NvDA+t, he speaks only explorer.
It's as if NvDA is not able to interact with it, but in fact, if I
type something still works.
Another problem I have are the on-screen messages and dialogs question
NVDA can't read.
Any idea?
I have already enabled the java access bridge by painéu control, and I'm
using the jdk 8 32-bit, along with the eclipse 32-bit, NVDA 2018.3.2
and windows 10 64-bit.
What do you do?

I've not used it, but it sounds to me like it has the focus every time the time is changed. I wonder, in that software is the a way to hide the time display?
I do not think that fast mail is supported by nvda. Is it web based or a client?

Reguardless of what they say, firefox is crap.

Simply that they deem accessibility could be a security risk and will slow things down is my main reason not to trust mozilla anymore.

The only reason I use thunderbird is that I don't need to access the addons interface which is flat out crap and inaccessible but I don't need it.

New firefox is crap and will always have a bad reputation in my books.

Waterfox 56 seems to adopt both classic and new tech, and as long as we users can get the scripts for it it will be good.

There are a few downsides to it though.

The first is because of firefox 60 and up we will not get any more new addons ever for it and will have to run older versions of addons for ever.

Depending on what those are it may not matter in most cases, noscript works as it always has, nav sounds, privacy badger, and https everywhere just work and its all I really give a damn about.

I'd like it in ccleaner but as I have set it to never remember my history at all well who knows.

Its also not secured as often or updated as often, trying to stay as close to the esr versions as it can.

Right now its still showing firefox 56.

The authors say that it will eventually have to change and its getting rewritten and also that there is an addon store coming.

The users are happy though and I suspect the dev is taking his sweet time about any real change and is in no hurry.

If you really want a secure as up to date program waterfox is probably not for you chrome is good, though they have their own issue.

If you can stomach firefox then its your best bet to continue I guess.

But if like me you just want the same old net to work, waterfox just does that.

No tracking etc.

Ofcause you loose things like extra shields by default, and a few other things like internal app updates, and autoupdates by mozilla updaters.

It does update itself so I don't think that matters.

With NVDA 2018.3.2 and by using twice "NVDA+ numPad5, an error ocurs.

Hi, David,

Have you checked the Table switches in the document formatting settings? If
not, there are two tags to turn on.
Tables
Row/column headings

These are not on by default so you have to open document settings (
NVDA+control+d) and then press tab several times to get to the "Tables
grouping". The first one is "Tables" and the next is the "row/column
headings". You move through each switch using the up or down-arrow keys.

Let us know if this fixes the problem.

I always turn these off again because they are noisy if you do not need the
information they provide.

When I view or edit the file properties in Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word
(File > Info), NVDA does not read the labels for the edit fields for the
properties (Title, Tags, and so on). Am I doing something wrong or should I
report this as a bug?
