file called elevator.exe fro writing. I ignored it, then it claimed the database of media was corrupted and although it played stuff the message went around and around. so I put the machine back to before the install, putting the old version back. All was OK except for some level adjusting needing to be done in the volume controls for running programs dialogue. So I suspect there is a bug in the installer, and a word of warning also, unchecki stopped it installing some other software as well, so be aware the latest archive has another payload as well as Winamp. It may well be that if you completely uninstall Winamp and start again, it will be fine but there seems so little difference between the old latest and the new latest, I'm tempted not to bother again. Last time I had issues with the detection of ram sticks as portable players and then winamp crashed, so I don't want all that junk again. Brian bglists@... Sent via blueyonder. Well think about this for a moment. You do not want to close that window using normal things so as far as I'm aware, alt/f4 closes it. If any other combination was use it might go away when its actually needed! Brian

Hello,
Is there a way to close the Speech Viewer? Whenever it is up, I can't bring up the NVDA dialog (via Insert N) to change settings. I am given an error message that another dialog is already open, and am forced to close NVDA.

Is it only those voices or can you duplicate this with Eespeak as well? I'm at a loss how the browser might affect the synth, that is why I ask.

OK has the pc had its function keys made to default to custom uses. Normal such machines have a function key, so then the command becomes nvda plus function plus F12.

Sounds almost like you need a thing like an old fashioned slow scann fax system where the graphics were represented by rising and falling tones a line at a time.

If not, let us know. When you open the save as dialog, tab once and see, in the files of type combo box, what options there are. If PDF isn't one of them, you can't save as a PDF file. Save the file as some other format, then use another program or utility to save it as a PDF. I don't recall if PDF is an option. Dear Diego Ricardo Matos and Alexandre Alves Toco
Dear Alexandre Alves Toco
Thank you very much for your valuable information.
Dear Diego Ricardo Matos
It sounds as if my suggestions will not help you solve the issue you are having with Eclipse. My suggestions would probably only help if you were using a Java Swing application. I am sorry for wasting your time and energy and for introducing unhelpful information. I hope that I will learn to restrict my suggestions to areas where I have more experience in future.
I hope that you manage to find a solution soon.
David

Hi! I started using NVDA over 30 percent of the time in March, 2015. I had used it some clear back in 2007, and I used on a library computer at Ohio state University in 2008. Now, I use NVDA at least 90 percent of the time, and I use it in situations that I never thought I would use it in. Thank you for this community, and making NVDA and all add-ons what it is today! Hi tony
Not sure if the following add on will do the trick i almost forgot about it. it was written so you could work out i think it was shapes and colors etc. You need a touch screen computer.
I do not think it has been touched since? It may be what you are looking for? or not but can be fund at https://www.nvaccess.org/audioScreen/ I think there is also a mp3 file you can listen to and some stuff to try it out on on the same page along with the add on. It was written by Mick one of the developers a couple of years back.

Hello, I am wondering if there is a way to visualize time series information as audio signal? For example the way I envision this tool is that larger numbers would correspond to higher pitch tones and the entire time series would be synthesized as variable-pitch sound a few seconds long. I often need to deal with time series at work and it would be very helpful to get the general idea of shape of the curve. Reading the numbers one by one is not an option, since there are typically hundreds and often thousands of them. Does anybody know any existing tool capable of that? I am currently thinking about writing an NVDA add-on for that, but I just want to check if maybe something like that already exists. Best Tony --

I tried running Sonification Sandbox - it doesn't seem to be accessible. Am I missing anything? I have Java access bridge enabled. I wish they had a command-line version of their tool, but I couldn't find any traces of it. Adriani, Yes, your feature request is very similar to my idea. What I have in mind is maybe more quick-and-dirty approach: you select a range of cells in excel and then press a magic key combination that triggers my add-on and plays a rapid series of tones. But if someone implements your feature request, that would be good enough. --Tony
