Hi, Lino
I reading through the entire thread but you have not mentioned on
your last message. Also, don't be so rude to response we asking
here politely here. So be sensitive and watch your words telling
were deaf in a first first we won't bothered to ask and curious to
tell if you said it to your previous message. Anyway. I don't want
to prolong this type of argument here.

I tried running Sonification Sandbox - it doesn't seem to be accessible. Am I missing anything? I have Java access bridge enabled. I wish they had a command-line version of their tool, but I couldn't find any traces of it. Adriani, Yes, your feature request is very similar to my idea. What I have in mind is maybe more quick-and-dirty approach: you select a range of cells in excel and then press a magic key combination that triggers my add-on and plays a rapid series of tones. But if someone implements your feature request, that would be good enough. --Tony

Dear Tony,
there is a tool called audio screen but it works only in .svg files which are opened in browsers in full screen. This is quite uncommon for diagrams in general. That's why the tool is not being used by most people. Your idea is very good. i have created an issue some months ago on Github with a more detailed method which could be very efficient. Please feel free to comment on it: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/7858 Best Adriani -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: nvda@nvda.groups.io <nvda@nvda.groups.io> Im Auftrag von Tony Malykh Gesendet: Freitag, 19. Oktober 2018 23:38 An: nvda@nvda.groups.io Betreff: [nvda] Audio charts Hello, I am wondering if there is a way to visualize time series information as audio signal? For example the way I envision this tool is that larger numbers would correspond to higher pitch tones and the entire time series would be synthesized as variable-pitch sound a few seconds long. I often need to deal with time series at work and it would be very helpful to get the general idea of shape of the curve. Reading the numbers one by one is not an option, since there are typically hundreds and often thousands of them. Does anybody know any existing tool capable of that? I am currently thinking about writing an NVDA add-on for that, but I just want to check if maybe something like that already exists. Best Tony

Yes, there's extensive relevant research in this area. It isn't a subject in which I have expertise, but I did participate in a relevant project several years ago.

The Sonification Handbook summarizes much of the literature as of the time of its publication. Several researchers in accessibility have contributed as well. There are publicly available tools, such as the Sonification Sandbox: http://sonify.psych.gatech.edu/research/sonification_sandbox/

I’m not certain but I recall reading about a product called “Dictation Bridge” which I think can support verbal commands for the PC. I also recall that it is free software but please Google it for correct details.

Re: Open book

For this answer, I will assume you know how to use
a standard save as dialog. If not, let us know. When you open the
save as dialog, tab once and see, in the files of type combo box, what options
there are. If PDF isn't one of them, you can't save as a PDF file.
Save the file as some other format, then use another program or utility to save
it as a PDF. I don't recall if PDF is an
option.

Re: Free Spanish Plugins
Brian's Mail list account
I doubt it, if its not giving you the choices then I'd suggest all the voices are going to be paid for, and in any case with nvda changing as fast as it is, you are best to use the official add ons and drivers for things. You should get support and hopefully not some dodgy hacked illegal code that might trash the computer!

Re: SAPI-specific settings not saving when changing to another voice
Brian's Mail list account
OK What seems to be happening is this. The settings are saved when you save settings, but only for the actual voice in Sappi 5. If you use a different voice it seems like the local settings for that voice are replaced by a default. Then if you come back to the old voice once again they are set at the default. However, most of the time if you do not allow save on exit, the old voice you set will be loaded back on a restart with the parameters you set. So. Moral is, do not change the sappi 5 settings by moving the voice then allow nvda to save settings or it will overwrite the old ones.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I suppose Microsoft's Sappi drivers are the culprits here, since only one set of parameters seems to be allowed for every single voice and this cannot be altered from the nvda dialogue once its been reset. and of course that default is then rewritten to nvda if you exit the screenreader with save settings on. I have no idea if this is fixable by nvda but I'm almost certain I encountered this in Dolphin Supernove when I used it. It had a separate dialogue where you set each individual voice as in that much like the shark different voices could be defined for menus reading etc. Its a bit awkward when more than one system is attempting to be king of the mountain! Mine do tend to stick between restarts, but if I change the voice for the active SAPI 4 or SAPI 5 synthesizer, speech rate and volume do not stick. For instance, changing to SAPI 5, then using NVDA+CTRL+left to go to voice, then using NVDA+CTRL+down to change between the voices , all my settings revert to default values. I've never understood the reason. I don't really use SAPI a lot, but I'd like those options to stick when I do. Nicolai

Well think about this for a moment. You do not want to close that window using normal things so as far as I'm aware, alt/f4 closes it. If any other combination was use it might go away when its actually needed!
