Dan Beaver
No, it does not announce the content when the alert pops up. I have this same issue and have not found a way to have NVDA speak the content of the alert. It drives me nuts sometimes.

I figured out why nobody was reporting on it. It's a private invitation to try the alpha version. The below is the feedback email link and the features the page touts. I won't retain formatting when pasting, but I hope it helps others anyway. I'm curious though, why it seems to be only me who has gotten this invite? Probably because I use it daily. Re: Basic html for gmail
Here's how to make NVDA read the basic HTML button. The link in post 2 will set basic HTML as default view but if standard still loads, follow these steps. The below link will do it automatically. Set basic HTML as the default.

Re: DELETING MULTIPLE E-MAILS IN GMAIL
Gene
The trash folder automatically deletes mail that is
thirty days old. It appears the accumulated mail is somewhere else, such
as in the inbox. It may be that someone wants to remove everything for
some reason. But you don't have to worry about running out of room.
If you run out of room, the oldest messages are deleted and replaced by newer
ones. So if that is the only reason you want to remove old mail, there is
no need to do so.
I don't use GMail for personal mail that I want to
keep private so I don't care about whether it accumulates. It is all list
mail, in my case.

Re: Amazon Buying Links Disappeared
Gene
I see that you weren't describing using the
mouse. You are talking about using the command to activate a control that
the navigation by object is set to. I don't know what happens if you move
the mouse and then left click.

Disappeared Don't care what the command to move the mouse is, the keystrokes I put in the post are the ones that work. No idea why, (as I said before), but they do, and why is anybody's guess. Change the keystrokes, and you won't be able to click the button. <shrug> I didn't invent the keystrokes, I just use them. On 11/8/2018 7:54 PM, Gene wrote:

If you go into forms mode while you are in the edit
field, and use control home, you will move to the top of the edit field.

Whether there is such a setting or not, simply be in forms mode in the edit field and use the command control home to move to the top of the edit field before you write. If you use automatic switching, that may not work, I don't know. Maybe it moves you to the top of the page and goes into browse mode. Just one more reason I believe strongly that people should turn off the automatic changing feature and manually go into forms mode or into browse mode.
